When My Twin Sister Stole My Mate Chapter 08

When My Twin Sister Stole My Mate Chapter 08

walked around Rillian and headed straight for the front yard.

My mother stood next to a black SUV, flanked by two werewolf bodyguards.

She was dressed in an expensive haute couture suit, hier makeup flawless, but her shrill voice cut through the air..

“The daughter I carried for ten months is hiding out in some strange city, ignoring us while our family falls apart.

“She thinks she can fly on her own, and now she won’t even acknowledge her own mother!”

Passersby stopped in their tracks, pointing and whispering.

The moment she saw me appear, she lunged forward, raising her hand to slap me.

I tilted my head and stepped back. Her hand hit empty air.

“Freya, you dare to dodge?”

“Pack your things right now and get back to the Pack with me!”

“Daisy’s body hasn’t recovered yet. You used to do all the pattern drafting and hand-sewing for those huge orders

in her name, and now she can’t make that velvet gown she accepted earlier by herself!”

“The werewolf fashion association’s exhibition is tomorrow, and the dress is due! If we breach the contract, the family company will have to pay an astronomical penalty!”

She glared at me as if she were staring at a highly useful tool.

“You must stay up tonight and rush out the patterns and tailoring!”

Killian stood beside her, looking as if he had finally found the leverage he needed.

“Freya, this is not a trivial matter.”

He applied pressure in a low voice. “If the family company collapses, your mother and Daisy will lose their protection and be reduced to the lower class.”

“You can be angry with me, but you cannot watch your family end up on the streets.”

I looked at the two of them coldly.

One wanted me to go back and clean up her mess, while the other still naively believed that as long as he threw around the word “family,” I would inevitably cave.

I laughed. “What the hell does the family company going bankrupt have to do with me?”

My mother’s eyes instantly went round with shock. “You are a part of this family!”

I pulled a stack of documents from my backpack and threw them right in her face.

“Read it yourself.”

“I have officially left the Pack, renounced all inheritance rights, and revoked your permission to use any of the works under my name.”

“These documents were notarized and put into effect by the Werewolf Council yesterday.”

My mother scrambled to catch the papers.

After reading just two lines, her face went completely white.

“You… you are serious?”

“Did you think I was playing pup games with you?”

My voice held no warmth.

“Since I was little, all the blood and sweat I poured into my work through all those sleepless nights always had Daisy’s name on it.”

“She took the credit to enjoy the adoration and play the socialite. And you used my talent to secure orders and high -tier investments.”

“Now that she can’t produce the work, you expect me to go back and save that pile of garbage?”

My mother’s hand gripping the papers began to tremble violently.

“How can you be so selfish?”

“Daisy was severely injured when her wolfsbane flared up. She can’t even hold scissors steady!”

“Severely injured?”

I stared her dead in the eye.

“Mom, do you really not know what is actually going on with her wolfsbane?”

Her eyes darted away for just one second of panic.

But as an Alpha, Killian caught the unmistakable scent of a guilty conscience.

“Freya, what do you mean by that?”

“Killian, you always prided yourself on using your Alpha intuition to see through all lies.”

I looked at him mockingly.

“It’s a pity you’ve been played for a fool by a she-wolf faking an illness for so long.”

His face darkened instantly, looking like a storm about to break. His muscles tensed.

“Explain yourself.”

“Daisy never had wolfsbane poisoning.”

“Those burns, flare-ups, and comas? They were all from a fake poison potion and skin dye she bought from a witch in the border black market. Drinking it makes the skin burn red, causes tremors, and triggers fainting spells. It perfectly replicates the symptoms of real wolfsbane poisoning.”

“That is impossible!”

Killian denied it sharply without a second thought.

“I watched her cough up blood and collapse with my own eyes. Even her heartbeat nearly stopped!”

“You only saw what she wanted you to see.”

I pulled my tablet from my bag.

Theld a video file. It was the raw footage a famous werewolf hacker in Nova City had recovered for me from a deleted private clinic security feed.

I tapped play and cast it to the public display screen in the courtyard.

The screen lit up.

Daisy was sitting on an exam bed in a private clinic, rolling up her sleeve. An old witch in a black hood was handing her a small vial of pale purple liquid.

“This fake wolfsbane potion lasts for forty-eight hours,” the witch’s raspy voice said. “Make a shallow cut on your wrist first and apply this powder. The blood will flow even prettier than the real thing.”

Daisy laughed, a smug smile I had never seen at home.

“That’s enough. Now, Killian would give me his life if he just saw me bleed.”

“Last time I said I was scared of the thunder, he dropped a tribal council meeting to rush back and keep me company.”

“This time I said I wanted to wear a gown just once, and he straight up snatched Freya’s wedding dress to give to me.”

The witch scoffed. “Is she really that obedient?”

“Of course. She has always been like that. If I cry, she has to give in. Mom taught her from a young age that Daisy’s wolf is weak and Freya’s wolf is strong, so the healthy one must give way to the sick one.”

Daisy’s shrill, piercing voice broadcast clearly through the speakers, pouring into everyone’s ears.

“She actually thinks Killian loves her so much.”

“As long as I act pitiful enough, that Alpha would even sign half his territory over to me.”

The entire street fell dead silent.

The last trace of color on Killian’s face completely evaporated. His chest heaved violently.

My mother lunged forward like a madwoman to snatch my tablet.

I took a step back and dodged her.

“Don’t rush. The best part is still to come.”

I clicked on the next video.

This time, my mother’s face appeared on the screen.

“Tomorrow’s ceremony absolutely cannot have any mishaps. If you drink this potion, Killian will definitely abandon Freya and run over to you.”

Daisy asked hypocritically, “But what about Freya’s ceremony?”

My mother let out a cold sneer.

“Her wolf is perfectly healthy and her heart is hard. A little heartbreak won’t kill her.”

“Besides, we still need those hands of hers to finish the designs for you. Once you marry the Alpha and become que werewolf nobility, she will have outlived her usefulness anyway.”

The video cut to black.

As if moving inch by inch like a rusted machine, Killian turned his head, his dead stare locking onto my mother.

The Alpha’s murderous, enraged aura instantly saturated the air, and his voice dropped so low it made the hairs on the back of one’s neck stand up.

“You knew this whole time?”

My mother, pushed back continuously by that terrifying pressure, opened her mouth wide but could not make single sound.

I closed the tablet. “You can get out now.”

“Let Daisy do your garbage orders herself.”

“And from now on, don’t ever think about sucking another drop of blood from me.”

I turned around and walked toward the studio without looking back.

Behind me, Killian called my name.

“Freya.”

His voice was hoarse to the extreme, sounding as if something inside him had been torn open alive.

“When exactly… did you find out?”

I stopped in my tracks. “The night before the ceremony.”

He completely froze in place.

“Then why didn’t you tell me?”

I tilted my head slightly, catching a glimpse of him in my peripheral vision, and let out a cold laugh.

“If I had told you then, oh great and mighty Alpha, would you have believed me?”
