What Bloomed After Goodbye Chapter 10

What Bloomed After Goodbye Chapter 10

Mira’s voice stayed calm. “Mr. Gorman, I forgot about the past a long time ago.”

Forgot.

One word. Sharper than any accusation.

She wasn’t holding a grudge. She just didn’t care.

His regret, his fall, his pain-it meant nothing.

“I’m doing great now. I’m happy.” She glanced at Lucien, warmth in her eyes. “My husband loves me. My career’s thriving. I don’t need or want-to forgive anyone. Please don’t disturb my life again.”

She looped her arm through Lucien’s and stood.

She didn’t look back.

Caleb stayed frozen, staring at her back. Then it hit. He dropped into a crouch and started sobbing.

People glanced over, whispering. He didn’t care.

He’d finally felt a sliver of what Mira went through.

Loving someone who didn’t love you back. Regret that showed up too late. Wanting something you could

never get again.

He had it coming.

Mira never saw Caleb again.

She heard he stayed in that small town, living a quiet, forgettable life.

The former rich kid was just another guy now, worrying about rent and groceries.

Holly never came back either.

Some said she moved somewhere remote, changed her name, and started over.

Others said she kept drifting from city to city, same as always-just not as bold anymore.

Either way, it had nothing to do with Mira.

As for Robert and Brandon, they were still under the overpass, faking injuries, barely getting by.

Creditors tracked them down sometimes, leaving them bruised and swollen.

They didn’t dare reach out to Mira. They knew she wouldn’t care.

They dug that hole. Now they sat in it.

Every now and then, Mira heard updates from friends.

Everyone who hurt her got what was coming.

She’d left the dark behind a long time ago-and stepped into her own light.

She and Lucien settled in Parisse, traveling now and then for inspiration.

Her brand kept blowing up, becoming one of the most influential Arlencian labels worldwide.

She wasn’t that insecure, love-starved girl anymore.

She was independent, confident, glowing-and loved by Lucien.

One evening, Mira stood on her balcony, watching the sunset over the Seyna River. Lucien slipped his arms around her from behind. “What are you thinking about?”

“I’m thinking how lucky I was to walk away back then.”

She turned and smiled, radiant.

If she hadn’t walked away from that wedding, hadn’t let go of that toxic relationship, hadn’t gone to Parisse to start over, she’d never have known she could live like this.

What didn’t break her made her stronger.

The people who hurt her faded into dust-background noise in her life.

That wedding disaster ended her broken past and started her new life.

From there, the road stretched wide open.

The storms in her life had passed, leaving nothing but miles of cloudless skies and brilliant hope.
