They Put My Pregnant Daughter-In-Law On A Paternity Wheel For Fun Chapter 10

Three months later, the court handed down its final rulings.

Kian was convicted on multiple charges including corporate asset embezzlement, intentional.

prescription-drug tampering, and aggravated kidnapping of a pregnant woman. Multiple sentences

ran consecutively.

Vaughan and every complicit senior executive also received their sentences.

As Jorenna was led out of the courtroom, she still shouted protest.

“I just fell for the wrong person!”

Nobody paid her any attention.

The evidence stacked up against her was overwhelming.

It included forged photographs, illegal fund transfers, and the full plot behind the cruel Paternity-Roulette Wheel spectacle.

Then there was Kael.

All signed documents, recorded audio clips, and security footage capturing him ordering Soraya’s restraint were laid out before the court.

Before trial, his defense attorney Damon Pryor visited my office three separate times.

He said Kael was ready to confess, ready to return misappropriated assets.

He kept arguing that blood ties should keep me from being too harsh.

I only gave him one reply.

“Let the legal system decide his fate.”

Kael was ultimately sentenced to prison.

On judgment day, he stared across the Defendant’s Dock at me for a very long time.

“Mom.”

I never lifted my eyes to meet his gaze.

From the night he gambled with his own unborn child’s life, I had no wish to hear that title from

him ever again.

Voss Global Holdings went through a complete internal overhaul.

Board members who’d sided with the traitors voluntarily surrendered their shares.

Everyone who’d taken bribes paid every stolen dollar back.

Some men knelt outside my office doors, begging for an audience.

“I will not see them,” I told staff.

“When Voss Global Holdings struggled, these people filled their own wallets.

Now that the company is stable again, they want to come back begging for favors.”

“That will never happen.”

Soraya officially joined the Voss Global Oversight Board.

At first, several insiders whispered that she’d only gotten the position because of her pregnancy.

During her very first board meeting, she presented three falsified contracts and exposed two managers taking kickbacks.

No one dared whisper criticism about her after that.

One week before her estimated due date, Soraya went into sudden labor.

I received the phone call, and my fountain pen slipped right out of my grasp and clattered onto the

desk.

Silas spoke beside me.

“Ms. Elara, the vehicle is fully prepped.”

“Is the maternity bag packed?”

“All items are ready.”

“Are the medical specialists standing by at the clinic?”

“They are all on-site.”

“Has the Premium Neonatal Bassinet been fully sanitized?”

Silas fought back a smile.

“You personally inspected it three separate times yesterday.”

I shot him a sharp glance.

“What are you amused about?”

When I arrived at the Boutique Private Maternity Clinic, Soraya had already been taken into the delivery suite.

I put on sterile scrubs and went inside to stay with her.

She was writhing in pain, face drained of color, yet still gripped my hand trying to soothe me./

“Elara, I’m going to be fine.”

“Don’t you worry.”

“What would I possibly have to fear?” I replied.

Even so, every time she grimaced in agony, my own chest tightened with fear.

Several hours later, the sharp cry of a newborn baby echoed through the room.

Nurse Brynlee carried the infant over toward us.

“It’s a baby girl. Mother and child are both stable.”

I stared down at the wrinkled little face. I hesitated, afraid to reach out my hands.

The nurse chuckled softly.

“Aren’t you going to hold your granddaughter?”

“She’s far too tiny,” I said.

“What if I hurt her by accident?”

Soraya gave a weak, tired laugh.

“She’s not nearly that fragile.”

Only then did I carefully take the baby into my arms.

The little girl stirred, and her tiny fingers curled tight around one of mine.

Hot stinging emotion welled up behind my eyes.

Arguments quickly broke out in the hospital hallway outside the room.

Under guard, Kael had submitted a formal visitation request.

He looked gaunt and thin.

When he spotted the baby in my arms, his eyes lit up.

“Just let me see her for one moment.

Soraya’s voice stayed calm and steady.

“No.”

“Soraya, she’s my biological daughter.”

The attorney handed over the official visitation restriction paperwork.

Soraya said plainly, “Discuss custodial rights only through legal representatives.

Do not show up in front of me ever again.”

Kael tried to keep talking, but the officers led him away.

Soraya never glanced in his direction again..

One month after the baby’s birth, I handed the restored Obsidian Access Medallion over to Soraya.

The scratch marks from the stiletto heel over her engraved initial were still clearly visible on its

inner face.

Soraya brushed her fingertips over that old scar.

“Why don’t we get a brand-new one minted?”

“Keep this one,” I told her.

“Let it remind everyone exactly what we survived through to get here.”

I had the digital permission systems updated.

From that day onward, Voss Global Holdings highest authority was no longer mine alone.

Soraya closed her fingers firmly around the medallion.

Are you truly comfortable entrusting this power to me?”

“What reason would I have for doubt?” I answered.

“The son I raised turned out untrustworthy.

But the daughter I chose? I refuse to believe I misjudged you.”

Tears filled her eyes.

I pulled her into a gentle hug.

“Don’t cry. You’re still in your postpartum recovery period.”

One month later, Voss Global Holdings convened its new-term board meeting inside the Voss

Global Boardroom.

I carried my granddaughter in my arms as I walked into the conference chamber.

Soraya walked right beside me.

Every person who had pressured her to surrender equity was long gone, replaced with brand-new

faces.

An extra chair had been placed next to the main executive seat.

I gestured for Soraya to sit down.

She blinked in surprise.

“Elara, this is your seat.”

“My seat is over to the side.”

I set the Obsidian Access Medallion down on the table right in front of her.

“Voss Global Holdings will no longer be ruled by my decisions alone.

This board has a seat reserved for you, too.”

When the meeting concluded, Soraya naturally looped her arm through mine.

“Elara, let’s go home.”

I glanced down toward the baby resting in her arms and smiled, giving a quiet affirmative reply.

From that day on, she was no longer merely my daughter-in-law.

She was my daughter.
