They Put My Pregnant Daughter-In-Law On A Paternity Wheel For Fun Chapter 05
Kael’s hand remained frozen in place.
He stared up at me, every drop of color draining from his face.
“Mom…”
I walked slowly down the staircase in my heels.
All the directors who’d just been clamoring for my early retirement hung their heads in instant
fear.
Jorenna rushed forward first, forcing a nervous smile.
“Elara, when did you come back?”
“Soraya was causing such an ugly scene. We only acted to save the Voss family’s reputation.”
I stopped directly in front of her.
“You dare call me Aunt while holding a fake medallion forged in my name?”
Her face stiffened with panic.
Kian stepped protectively in front of her.
“Elara, Jorenna’s medallion passed full system verification. Soraya’s was officially revoked. This is company protocol.”
I let out a cold laugh.
“My personal possessions do not answer to a broken computer system.”
“Mom.” Soraya’s voice trembled softly.
I walked to her side and reclaimed the damaged obsidian medallion from Harlan’s hand.
The custom-engraved initial was badly scratched from Jorenna’s heel.
I brushed off the dust gently.
“I gave this to you.”
“I say it’s real-and it is real.”
Jorenna blurted out frantically.
“But mine still unlocks every door on this estate!”
I shatched her counterfeit medallion and dropped it straight into a nearby whiskey glass.,
“A fake granting access only means someone tampered with the locks.”
I turned my icy gaze to Kian.
“Isn’t that right?”
Kian’s jaw tightened, his expression rigid.
“You can’t make accusations without evidence.”
Harlan dropped to his knees with a heavy thud.
“Ms. Elara, I’ll confess everything!”
“Six months ago, Mr. Rainer ordered me to revoke Mrs. Voss’s authority and upload the max permission clearance to Ms. Hale’s fake medallion!”
“He also told me to delete all tonight’s surveillance footage-but I saved full backups!”
Kian snapped his head toward him, threateningly.
“Think carefully about what you’re saying.”
Harlan kowtowed repeatedly, terrified but resolute.
“The backend logs are all preserved! I’ll hand every file over!”
Kian’s face turned completely dark.
He quickly signaled a subordinate to hand over a formal medical document.
“Elara, you’re chronically ill and medicated long-term.”
“Hospital records confirm severe cognitive impairment. Per company bylaws, you lack authority to make major corporate decisions.”
Kael immediately backed him up.
“Mom, let Uncle Kian handle the company.”
“Jorenna was only looking out for me.”
I stared sharply at my son.
“She tried to force an invasive needle into your unborn child-and that’s looking out for you?”
Kael avoided my gaze guiltily.
“We still don’t know if that child is mine.”
CRACK.
I slapped him hard across the face.
“That slap is for Soraya.”
I struck him a second time without hesitation.
“This one is for your unborn baby.”
Kael stumbled backward, crashing heavily into the betting table. Poker chips scattered everywhere
across the floor.
I picked up his falsified medical evaluation and tore it into shreds in front of everyone.
“You think a fake document with mismatched official stamps can declare me incompetent?”
“Kian, you used to blush when you told lies as a boy.”
“Now you don’t even want to act like a decent human being?”
I turned to Silas.
“Terminate all of Kian’s corporate positions effective immediately.”
“Seal all estate financial records.”
“Nothing and no one leaves this premises tonight.”
Kian shouted sharply.
“I dare you!”
The dozen directors standing behind him remained frozen, too cowardly to move.
I walked to the betting table and picked up the eight-million-dollar wedding band.
Kael spoke up instantly.
“Mom, that’s mine.”
“Yours?”
I tossed the ring directly into the trash can beside me.
“Everything you own was given to you by me.”
I reached out and spun the roulette wheel hard.
The wheel whirred rapidly before finally stopping dead in front of Kael.
I stared at his deathly pale face.
“Eight million dollars, right?”
“Fine.”
“Tonight, I’ll gamble with my son-just like all of you.”
