They Put My Pregnant Daughter-In-Law On A Paternity Wheel For Fun Chapter 02
A heavy silence blanketed the hall for several long seconds.
Soraya latched onto this lifeline, voice trembling with hope.
“Elara gave this to me personally before she left the country.”
“She told me that anyone in the Voss organization must protect me the second I show this medallion.”
Harlan nodded frantically, his expression grave.
“There is only one authentic obsidian access medallion. Its authority overrides every single manager on this estate.”
He turned to Kael, his tone urgent and fearful.
“Mr. Voss, this farce must end immediately.”
“If Ms. Elara discovers what happened to Soraya and the baby, none of us will survive the consequences.”
Silas leaned down to whisper in my ear.
“Ms. Elara, shall we head down now?”
“Wait.”
My eyes never left Jorenna.
She dared to stage such a blatant power play on my private estate. She definitely had more schemes waiting in the shadows.
True to my suspicion, Jorenna suddenly broke into a calm, knowing smile.
“Mr. Harlan, are you losing your eyesight in your old age?”
She pulled a velvet jewelry box from her handbag and flipped the lid open.
Inside lay a second obsidian medallion, identical in size, color, and carved emblem to Soraya’s.
“The real highest-authority medallion is right here with me.”
“The one Soraya has was reported lost and invalid half a year ago.”
She stared at Soraya with a mocking glint in her eyes.
“I heard you were constantly sneaking into Elara’s private rooms while she was overseas.”
“Did you steal that outdated medallion while she was gone?”
Soraya’s face paled with shock and anger.
“That’s a lie!”
“She gave this to me with her own hands!”
She flipped the medallion over to reveal the tiny engraved character on the inner surface.
“It bears my initial S engraved on its inner side! She had this custom-carved just for me!”
Jorenna remained completely unruffled.
“Engraving a letter is hardly difficult.”
“We can run an authority check right now to prove which one is real.”
Harlan immediately ordered a staff member to bring over the authority verification tablet.
The two medallions were scanned one after another.
Soraya’s scan popped up a cold system prompt: [REPORTED LOST – AUTHORITY REVOKED]
Jorenna’s scan flashed a bright green light: [MAXIMUM AUTHORITY – ACTIVE & VALID]
Soraya shook her head in utter disbelief.
“That’s impossible.”
“This medallion has never left my side.”
I turned to Silas, my tone icy and controlled.
“Who manages the estate’s authority system?”
“Kian.” Silas’s expression darkened sharply.
“Ms. Elara, he must have tampered with the backend permissions.”
Kian Rainer was the boy I’d raised from nothing.
I’d funded his education, pulled him out of poverty, brought him into Voss Global, and entrusted him with full management of my private estates.
Now the power I’d gifted him was being used to forge my personal medallions and betray my family.
Harlan’s attitude flipped completely in seconds.
He snatched the medallion from Soraya’s hand, his tone harsh and unforgiving.
“You dare impersonate Ms. Elara with an invalid medallion to manipulate me?”
Soraya lunged forward to grab it back.
But Jorenna snatched it first. Her eyes flashed with sharp jealousy when she saw the custom engraved initial.
“Elara always did play favorites.”
“Too bad. Broken trinkets are still worthless trash.”
She tossed the medallion onto the floor and lifted her stiletto heel, ready to crush it.
Desperate to protect the medallion, Soraya threw herself over it.
The heel caught the back of her hand, leaving her visibly shaken.
Kael watched the entire incident, yet only frowned in irritation.
“Stop throwing a fit over a useless piece of junk.”
Soraya lifted her tearful gaze to him.
“This was a gift from Elara.”
“In your eyes, is everything she gives me this worthless?”
“She’s overseas right now. She can’t control anything here.” Kael’s voice turned cold.
“Be smart.”
“Cooperate, and none of tonight’s footage will ever leak online.”
Jorenna clapped her hands again.
Two estate valets carried a long wooden table to the center of the hall.
Two documents lay flat on the tabletop: a Petition for Dissolution of Marriage, and an Equity Assignment Instrument for Voss Global stock.
Jorenna pushed a pen toward Soraya.
“Elara gifted you ten percent of Voss Global’s equity.”
“Since your marriage with Kael is falling apart, you can’t keep holding Voss family assets.”
In that moment, Soraya finally saw through their entire scheme.
The fake cheating rumors, the illegitimate child accusations, the cruel paternity roulette—every single thing was a ploy to force her to surrender her shares.
She refused the pen, her gaze locked rigidly on Kael.
“You know perfectly well who this child’s father is.”
“Did you orchestrate this entire humiliating scene just to steal my equity?”
Kael avoided her eyes shamelessly.
“Those shares belong to the Voss family by right.”
“Sign the papers, and I’ll ensure none of this footage surfaces.”
Soraya let out a broken, bitter laugh as tears streamed down her cheeks.
“You forced me to spin that disgusting wheel and question my own child’s identity.”
She gestured sharply at the documents on the table, her voice rising with rage.
“You just want to drive me out with nothing!”
