The Don Chose Her, I Chose Left Chapter 06

The Don Chose Her, I Chose Left Chapter 06

Julian froze for two heartbeats before grinding his

teeth together in frustration.

Elena, you’re pulling some sick joke right now!”

No legitimate mafia household follows such ridiculous, unhinged customs!”

I arched an eyebrow at his blatant double

standard.

The Russo Family gets to force a prewedding overnight stay with an old flame under the name farewell vigil.”

Why can’t my Bellandi bloodline uphold our own

weddingnight tradition with an exlover?”

Quit being such a hypocrite, Julian.”

I let out a cold mocking laugh.

You demanded I swallow my pride and respect

your clan’s outdated heritage.”

That means you’re obligated to respect mine in

return.”

Silence blanketed the entire suite following my rebuttal.

His guys exchanged uncomfortable sideways glances with one another, none daring to speak

  1. up.

Sofia charged through the doorway into the

packed room immediately afterward.

Only the Russo Family gets to break every rule?

No fair play allowed for Bellandis?”

She shot a sneering glare toward Julian.

You spent your prewedding night locked up making out with Bianca, so Elena hanging out with an ex on her wedding night’s nothing out of line!”

You verbally promised to respect her family’s customs before the ceremony, remember?”

You can’t go back on your own spoken word now!”

Sofia began shooing every man toward the exit.

Alright now the groom’s present, the real

ceremony kicks off!”

Everybody out, go wait elsewhere!”

No way!Julian roared, his patience completely

snapped.

Elena planned this whole revenge scheme just to punish me for my night with Bianca!”

You’re getting back at me for ignoring you these

past three days!”

You dragged some random man in here just to

get under my skin!”

Yep.”

Since he’d already figured out my motive, I dropped all pretense and laid all cards on the

table.

I stared deep into his bloodshot eyes with cutting

sarcasm.

You were the first one to betray our eightyear

commitment.”

You were the first to stomp all over my

selfrespect in front of dozens of witnesses.”

You disguised blatant cheating as sacred family.

tradition and flaunted your infidelity openly.”

What reason did I have to keep pretending

everything was fine?”

Plus you already hosted your full wedding

ceremony alongside Bianca earlier today.”

She’s the official bride who stood on your altar in

front of every guest.”

You’ve got zero right dictating who I choose to

spend my evening with.”

Julian fell quiet for a lengthy beat before his throat

tightened up and he spoke in a shaky rasp.

Fine.”

I’ll admit the socalled farewell vigil was

fabricated.”

The full wedding ceremony was always meant for Bianca from the start.”

I lied straight to your face.”

But I had unavoidable reasons for every choice I made.”

Tears started pooling at the corner of his eyes.

Bianca’s diagnosed with terminal lupus.”

Doctors confirmed there’s no possible cure for her condition.”

She got down on her knees begging me to

recreate our old romance one final time before she dies.”

I couldn’t bring myself to turn her desperate plea

down.”

Julian’s redrimmed gaze locked onto mine, voice

trembling with manufactured sorrow.

I’ve already cut off all future contact with her,

Elena.”

I won’t go back on my word.”

From this day forward I’m committed solely to

building our life together.”

Call this guy off and send him away.”

I’m willing to overlook everything that’s happened

tonight.”

Let’s act like none of this mess ever went down.”

Pretending all his betrayal never happened?

That suggestion was laughable beyond words.

He’d cheated on me overnight right under my nose,

with another woman, thrown our preplanned

alliance wedding to satisfy Bianca’s selfish

wishes, and now expected me to wipe every insult

from memory like nothing occurred.

Impossible.

His inner circle all jumped in to plead my case on

his behalf.

Drop the petty fight with Julian, Miss Bellandi.”

He only caved out of pity for Bianca’s terminal

diagnosis.”

His true love’s always been you all along.”

Don’t throw away eight years of history over one

single mistake.”

Today’s supposed to be your happy wedding

night after all.”

Kick this unknown male guest out before we turn this into a public scandal for both families.”

The quiet mysterious man beside me finally opened his mouth to cut through their endless begging.

You think you can boot me out that easily?”

Am I invisible to all of you?”

He leaned his weight into my side and curled one

possessive arm around my waist, lazy arrogant smirk tugging his lips upward.

Elena.”

We struck a deal to finish the Bellandi family’s ritual tonight.”

You wouldn’t go back on your word now, would

you?
