The Doctor Who Learned Love Too Late Chapter 12

The Doctor Who Learned Love Too Late Chapter 12

After the national tour ended, Ivy organized a

celebration party.

She opened three bottles of champagne, and

when the foam sprayed out, everyone screamed

and dodged.

I hid in a corner and watched the chaos.

Ethan walked over.

His eyes were still on the laughing, rowdy crowd,

but his words were meant for me.

I still want to say it. I like you.”

I put down my glass.

Ethan, thank you.”

I know.”

He smiled easily.

I knew it would be like this. There’s someone in

your heart. But I couldn’t let it go without asking.”

He drank the rest of the wine in his glass in one gulp, lifted the empty glass toward me, then

turned and walked back into the crowd.

By the time the party ended, it was almost

midnight.

I put Ivy into the car that would take her back to

her parentshouse.

A cold wind suddenly blew over, carrying tiny white

flecks.

I froze and looked up.

It was snowing.

Then a coat suddenly landed on my shoulders.

I didn’t know when Landon had come to stand

behind me.

He took off his scarf and wrapped it around my

neck, burying almost half my face in it.

Can I drive you home?”

I reached out and caught a flake of snow.

“Fine.”

On the small road, ours was the only car.

Outside the window, snowflakes tapped softly

against the glass.

The snow is beautiful,he said.

Mm.”

A short silence passed.

People around me have been mentioning your

performances too,he said again. They said the

script was excellent and that it’ll definitely win

awards.”

Mm.”

He frowned. His lips moved, then closed again.

After a while, he opened them once more.

“Um”

Watching him struggle to find a topic, I laughed

out loud.

He looked lost.

What’s wrong?”

Nothing.”

I looked at the snow outside the window.

I just suddenly thought the snow was beautiful.”

As if his reactions were delayed, he looked out the

window and nodded.

Landon,” I suddenly said.

Mm?”

You graduated.”

What?”

He didn’t understand.

I sighed helplessly.

As an outstanding graduate, I’ll represent the

school and give you a reward.”

He still frowned in confusion.

So I smiled.

Let’s try again.”

He slammed on the brakes.

Then he stared at me without blinking.

What?I smiled. You don’t want to?”

I do!”

He said it urgently, his voice twice as loud as

usual.

The air went still for one second.

I do,he said again, looking at me deeply.

He glanced at the intersection ahead, then asked

carefully, Then can we go home?”

I’m already going home.”

I mean”

He paused.

Our home.”

It’s exactly the same as when you left. I didn’t

move anything.”

Outside the car window, the snow kept falling.

The house and I have both been waiting for you.”

I buried my face in the scarf.

It was warm.

Fine,I said.

His hand trembled lightly.

The car started again.

Snowflakes landed on the windshield, and the

wipers swept them away.

The road ahead was bright.

June, I’ll never let you leave again.”

Streetlights slid past one after another.

I said, Mm.
