The Billionaire Who Faked My Love Story And Lost The Real One Chapter 11

After that, Garrick asked to see me.

The coffee shop we used to go to.

Nothing about it felt the same.

He got straight to the point.

“Elara, what do I have to do for you to forgive me?”

I thought about it. “You dismantled everything I had. My people, my network, all of it. So start with this: your company. All your assets. Sign them over.”

He didn’t even blink. He had his assistant draw up papers right there and signed everything over.

I smiled.

“You made me kneel. You let Wren hit me.”

He took my hand, gently, and pressed it to his own face. Then he used it to slap himself. Twice.

Hard.

When I didn’t respond, he reached for a steak knife on the table.

I raised an eyebrow.

“So you’re not blaming me for the baby anymore?”

Garrick shook his head so fast it looked desperate.

“You’re the only one that matters! If it makes you feel better, I’ll dig up the grave myself!”

I looked at him for a long time.

Then I laughed. Quiet and tired.

“Garrick, even after all of this, I still don’t like you.”

Something in his eyes went out.

I found myself curious.

“Why did you fall for me?”

“I thought we hated each other. I thought we’d burn each other to the ground before anything else.”

Something shifted in his face. His eyes went soft.

“A long time ago, we really were trying to destroy each other.”

“I stole your projects. You blew up my deals. You couldn’t stand the sight of me.”

“But then I noticed something. Every time you beat me, you’d tilt your chin up and look back at me

with this expression. Like you owned the world.”

“I wanted you to never stop looking at me like that. Only at me.” ~

“That’s how it started.”

I nodded. “Sure. But have you noticed that your love has only ever hurt me?”

That one landed somewhere deep. He shut his eyes.

When he finally opened them again, he let out a broken laugh.

“I get it.”

He slid a document across the table.

Divorce papers. Already signed.

I blinked. Then shook my head and pulled a folder from my bag.

“The one you burned was fake. I kept the real one.”

“Garrick, let’s just end this clean.”

After that, I never saw Garrick or Wren again.

Silas and I got married again.

This time, nobody crashed it.

But when we got home, two rows of patio roses were lined up outside the front door. My favorites.

Silas caught the look on my face and squeezed my hand, a little too tight.

“You’re not regretting this, are you?”

I smiled. “What do you think?”

Silas scooped me up.

We fell into the bed together.

But he didn’t do anything. He just held me.

“Elara,” he said, his voice buried in my hair, “don’t disappear on me again.”

“Okay. I won’t.”
