The 100 Rules Dating the Male Lead Chapter 07
I watched the bullet comments.
[The female lead is clever. Agreeing to the
alliance keeps the male lead on the hook. She knows if she tries to stop him from dating, it’ll just backfire, so she agrees to keep the bet quiet.]
[Realistically, with Caspian’s family, the side chick doesn’t really stand a chance.)
[Whatever, this is a novel, who cares about
reality.]
[In the original story, the male lead’s first kiss was with the female lead. Now he’s kissed the side chick a hundred times. Why is the female lead still so obsessed with him? So annoying.]
I laughed to myself.
I never planned on playing the long game with him
anyway.
The party was at a villa Caspian owned.
He’d brought me here a few times before.
Everyone’s eyes drifted over me. No one was
outright mean, they were polite enough on the surface.
Except for Seraphina’s cousin, Lysander.
In the original story, he was in love with Seraphina
but knew he didn’t stand a chance.
So he just wanted her to be happy.
He was the first one on the platform to call me a homewrecker.
I hate guys who play dirty like that.
Later in the story, when he finds out he’s not
actually related to Seraphina, he willingly becomes her side piece.
What a hypocrite.
All forgiving with himself, harsh with everyone
else.
Truth or Dare was his idea, trying to help his crush..
We played the game. I landed on Lysander twice.
First, Truth. I asked if there was anyone in the
room he liked.
He couldn’t help glancing at Seraphina, then
admitted it.
Second, Dare. I told him to randomly kiss
someone there.
Lysander’s face darkened. He chose a girl who
had a crush on him. When he was done, I drawled,
“You know, guys are an option too.”
Caspian’s gaze shifted between me and Lysander,
looking annoyed.
He whispered in my ear, “Lysander likes someone.”
“He’s got a worse temper than me.”
I gave him a side–eye.
Caspian looked away and shut up.
After that little interlude,
Lysander finally spun the bottle and it landed on
Caspian.
Bullet comments went wild: [Nooo, the scummy
side character is gonna make him pick someone
to kiss.)
【The side chick seems nice, I don’t get why she
ends up so badly. I really don’t think a girl who got
played like that deserved to be cyber–bullied like in
the original. So the guy can be a side piece and that’s ‘deep‘?]
Lysander and Seraphina weren’t in sync.
After he said, “Kiss someone of the opposite sex in this room for one minute,” he kept his eyes on Caspian.
When he saw that Caspian’s first look wasn’t at Seraphina, he knew something was wrong.
You know your enemy best.
Caspian didn’t hesitate. He leaned towards me
and asked, “Is it okay?”
He’d gotten into the habit of asking my permission
for everything now.
According to our deal, I had to help him save face, so I didn’t say no.
Caspian looked thrilled. Scared I’d get mad, he
didn’t push it too hard.
Seraphina’s calm, collected mask from the last
hour finally cracked.
Everyone’s faces were pretty shocked, honestly.
She couldn’t take it anymore, made an excuse, and
went to the bathroom.
When the kiss ended,
I said, “Give me your phone.”
Before he could react, I took it.
Right then, Seraphina texted Caspian: [Fine. You
win.]
And I conveniently scrolled up to see the chat log
about the bet.
Caspian’s face went pale as he realized he forgot
to delete those messages.
He wasn’t in the habit of clearing his chats.
His eyes were full of panic at getting caught.
He stood there, frozen solid.
I didn’t say anything. I just put the phone back in
his hand.
Everyone there was sharp, they could tell
something was off.
For the rest of the game, Caspian was super quiet,
looking at me nervously.
Seraphina noticed the shift and asked around
discreetly.
But everyone just shook their heads.
“No idea what happened. She just checked his
phone.”
“Caspian’s little girlfriend didn’t change at all. No idea why he turned into a wilted flower all of a
sudden.”
Seraphina looked thoughtful.
This time, after I said ‘it’s over,‘ I deleted Caspian.
