No Longer Mrs. Vincenzo Chapter 06
Lorenzo’s POV
Lorenzo stared at the familiar folder, his heart pounding so hard it almost hurt. For the first time, he felt real fear
His hands trembled as he flipped to the last page. His own signature stared back at him.
But the day Elara had handed him that folder, she said it was paperwork for the Vincenzo family’s neighborhood protection fees.
She had come to him with the folder already open, tears streaming down her face.
“Lorenzo, I’m scared. Why would Ayana threaten me like this?”
“Is it because I’ve been too close to you? But I swear, I don’t have any feelings for you like that. I only see you as my dearest senior.”
“Besides, you saved my aunt’s life. Doesn’t that mean I should be grateful to you?”
He had looked at her red, swollen eyes and felt a pang of pity. To comfort her, he signed without even reading the
contents.
He never imagined it was a divorce agreement.
So that day, Ayana had already made up her mind to leave him.
His steps felt unsteady. All he wanted now was to find her.
He rushed outside and found Elara waiting at the door.
She moved toward him with practiced ease, wrapping her arms around his and pouting.
“Lorenzo, you missed your surgery today. I had to beg Soldato to cover for you. It took so much effort.”
“My hand is so sore from passing him instruments.”
She pressed closer, brushing against his arm deliberately, suggestively,
She expected him to feel sorry for her, to soften, to treat her even better than before.
Instead, he pulled his arm back without a trace of emotion.
He tossed the divorce papers in front of her, his voice cold and sharp.
“What is this? You told me it was family business that day.”
“Why did you lie to me?”
“Ayana is gone now. If you had told me the truth, I could have stopped her.”
Elara looked at the familiar document, her face cycling through shades of white and red.
She looked up at his furious expression and felt a chill run down her spine. Her voice quivered.
“Lorenzo, I… I didn’t mean to lie to you.”
“I thought Ayana was just throwing a tantrum. I didn’t think she would actually do this.”
“You’ve been so good to her. You think about everything for her. How could she just throw divorce in your face like
that?”
“Unlike me. I would never leave you.”
She wrapped her arms around him again, even undoing the top button of her blouse, exposing her cleavage.
“Lorenzo, I’ve loved you for years. Now that Ayana is gone, can’t you just look at me?”
She gazed up at him, full of hope.
But Lorenzo shoved her to the ground.
“Get away from me.”
“You knew I only ever loved Ayana. And you kept this from me?”
“I have never been interested in you. The only reason I ever looked out for you was because you were my junior.”
“Let me make this clear. If I don’t find Ayana, you will not have an easy time.”
His face was dark as thunder. He looked at Elara like she was his enemy.
She trembled in fear and didn’t dare say another word.
Lorenzo pulled out his phone and dialed the Vincenzo family.
“I need you to find someone. Ayana Vincenzo. I want to know every single move she’s made.”
