My Stepsister Livestreamed My Billion-Dollar Wedding Gown Chapter 05
His eyes locked onto Talia, still wearing the ripped couture gown.
His expression turned cold, bit by bit.
“What…”
Talia still had no clue what was happening. She stepped forward, ready to flirt and ingratiate herself, but Kian shoved her away roughly.
“Guards! Take all of them into custody!”
“You dare crash my sister Lila’s wedding. You are asking for serious trouble!”
Talia froze.
Hale froze.
Sterling froze.
Mom and Dad froze too.
They stood nailed to the floor, grins still stuck on their faces, eyes wide and unblinking, unable to grasp what was unfolding.
Security burst in while the livestream was still running.
Two large guards forced Talia’s arms behind her back and pushed her to the ground. The torn gown still hung on her body, bead embroidery fraying into loose strands.
She twisted violently and screamed.
“Do you know who I am! Three million people are watching my livestream!”
“Touch me and you’ll regret it! My fans will tear you apart!”
No one responded to her.
A third guard tackled Hale, pressing his face flat against the cold tile floor.
He still tried to act tough, raising his chin and shouting insults.
“I’m her blood brother! This is our family business! What right does the Jett family have to do this!”
Kian didn’t spare him a glance.
Sterling shrank into the corner. The gimbal slipped from his hand and clattered to the ground, camera still pointed at the wreckage.
His hands shook as he tried to end the livestream, but a guard kicked his phone away.
“Leave it running.” Kian’s voice stayed calm. “Let everyone online watch.”
Mom and Dad finally snapped out of their stunned daze.
Mom reacted first, rushing forward to shield Talia, only to be blocked by a guard.
She cried frantically.
“Mr. Jett! It’s a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding! This is Gwen’s wedding gown. Talia’s her sister, what’s wrong with trying it on!”
“Trying it on?”
Kian repeated the phrase like he’d heard a ridiculous joke.
He lifted his foot and nudged one of the loose diamonds on the floor.
“This gown was handmade in an Italian atelier, one of a kind across the globe. It took eight months
to craft, worth thirteen million dollars.”
He knelt down and looked straight at me, his gaze sharp as a blade.
“Gwen, how much did I pay you in design fees?”
I knelt on the floor, my cheek still burning from the slap, and spoke slowly.
“Eighty thousand dollars.”
“Do you remember what I told you when I signed the contract?”
I nodded.
“The gown represents the Jett family’s reputation. It is the betrothal heirloom for the alliance. No one was permitted to touch it.”
“Then how did you let Lila’s gown end up like this?”
Before I could reply, Talia screamed out first.
“It was her!” Lying pinned on the floor, she lifted her head, tears pouring instantly, screaming hysterically, “Mr. Jett, Gwen invited us here! She said this was her wedding gown and told us we could try anything!”
I whipped my head toward her.
She cried harder, every word crafted to pin all blame on me.
“She said she was getting married and asked our whole family to help. I had no idea this was your Lila’s gown! If I’d known, I never would’ve dared touch it!”
Hale nodded quickly, grabbing onto this lifeline.
“Yes! It’s Gwen! She tricked us! She’s not even married. Why would she bring a wedding gown
home? We had no clue who it was for!”
Sterling’s voice shook as he agreed.
“Mr. Jett, it’s all a misunderstanding. We thought it was for her wedding…”
Mom wailed.
“Please see the truth, Mr. Jett! Our Gwen has always been manipulative. She must’ve known how valuable this gown was and lured Talia in on purpose to frame our whole family!”
I watched each of them speak, one after another, dumping every bit of blame onto me.
This scene was identical to my past life.
Back then, in this very dressing room, I’d fought to protect the gown and chased Talia out.
She’d gone live crying, claiming I’d hoarded the dress and humiliated her, painting me as a cruel, jealous woman who hated her own family.
The whole world turned against me.
I lost everyone and died alone in my rental apartment.
Not a single one of them visited me before I died.
This lifetime, I chose not to stop them.
