My So-Called Best Friend Sold My Number Chapter 10

Chapter 10 Setting The Fire

You’d think she’d fall apart.

She didn’t. She adapted.

Everyone abandoned her.

Except Victor.

Of course.

He still hadn’t gotten what he wanted.

So he stayed.

Now that she couldn’t even afford a meal, Victor was her best lifeline.

A human’s gotta eat, right? Nothing shameful about that.

It took me a while to find their place.

A cheap rental which hidden perfectly.

I got photos. of the two of them dining together, acting all intimate, and sent them straight to Victor’s wife, Beatrice.

Beatrice?

Not someone you mess with.

Before Victor hit the jackpot with the lottery, she was a renowned butcher across several towns.

She firmly believed that men turned bad the second they got rich, so she kept Victor on a tight leash. But she had been sick the last few months, never expecting things to spiral out of control like this.

I called Chloe.

“How’s life as a mistress?”

“Serving an old man every day?”

“Couldn’t be me.”

“I guess you really have thick skin to tolerate all the foul stenches coming off Victor.”

She screamed.

“You think you’ve won, you b*tch?!”

I laughed.

“If I’m a b*tch, what does that make you?”

I pushed.

Hard.

Until her voice cracked.

My roommates played along.

“Daphne, don’t forget-Lee’s Diner, 3 PM this weekend!”

Perfect.

I hung up.

Texted Beatrice.

[This weekend, 3 PM.]

Someone like Chloe always fancied herself an untouchable beauty, a pure white lotus meant only to be admired from afar.

For years, she had meticulously crafted this exact persona.

Now that it had all crashed down, plunging her into the mud and turning her into a joke-a plaything for a greasy, ugly old man-her ego couldn’t handle the imbalance.

In the past, I treated her like gold, and she still got me killed.

Now, driven to total desperation, there was absolutely no way she’d let me live in peace.

I watched from a distance.

Chloe showed up.

Holding a bottle of some unknown liquid.

Not water.

Something worse.

Beatrice stepped out.

Checked the photo.

Matched the face.

Then slapped her.

“You little sl*t!”

“Trying to steal my man?!”

“I’m going to strip you naked and see if you ever dare do this again!”

Chloe was so stunned by the assault that her brain short-circuited. It wasn’t until her clothes were practically ripped off that she snapped back to reality.

Gritting her teeth, she twisted the cap off the bottle and hurled the liquid directly at Beatrice’s face.

Beatrice never saw it coming. Following a blood-curdling scream, her face was corroded beyond recognition.

But Beatrice was a ruthless woman. Enduring the agony, she snatched the bottle from Chloe’s grasp and splashed the remaining acid right back onto her.

The strong acid burned them both.

They collapsed onto the pavement, writhing in excruciating pain, until the police finally hauled them off to the hospital.

Since both of them were facing serious criminal charges, no matter how much they wanted each other dead, they were forced to reach a settlement.
