My So-Called Best Friend Sold My Number Chapter 07

Chapter 7 Push And Pull

“You really don’t like me?”

Please. I know Chloe. She never says no.

She just… delays. Keeps guys hooked. Drains them dry.

And when it blows up? Blame someone else. Usually me.

“I just think we’re not right for each other right now,” she said softly.

“I’m an unassuming person. This is… too much. Please don’t do this again.”

Victor’s face darkened.

That same look. The one he had before he kidnapped me. Cold. Violent.

For a second-I saw it again. That basement.

But there were too many people around.

He walked off fuming instead.

A message popped up seconds later.

[You set me up, didn’t you, you b*tch?]

[She doesn’t even like gifts! I looked like a f*cking idiot!]

I smiled. Hook set.

Chloe would never accept his gift in public. That had been obvious from the start.

I just wanted all our classmates to know that this Victor never should’ve had anything to do with me in the first place.

[You went way too big today. Everyone saw. She’s shy-of course she had to reject you.]

[Even if she likes you.]

He sent a swearing emoji.

[That’s bullsh*t! She said she doesn’t like me!]

I replied slowly.

[Then why did she let me test you?]

[Why add you on WhatsApp?]

[If she hated you, she wouldn’t even accept your request.]

In public, Chloe would never accept his gift.

But in private, that was another story.

She definitely wouldn’t refuse to add Victor on WhatsApp.

I had already changed my phone password and deleted her fingerprint, so she couldn’t scam money off my phone anymore. From now on, she’d have to do the dirty work herself.

He stayed silent for a long time.

Then-

[Yeah… you’re right. My bad.]

[So what should I do?]

There it is.

Reel him in.

[Honestly? Your taste is… kinda off.]

[Just send her money. Let her pick what she likes.]

[Way more effective.]

No reply.

But I knew-

He’d do it.

The door slammed open.

Chloe stormed in.

“Dawn! Why did you give him my WhatsApp?!”

“Oh-and did you tell him my schedule too?”

Her eyes were sharp.

Suspicious.

If she hadn’t thrown this mess at me first…I might’ve felt guilty.

“He’s your admirer. Of course I gave it to him.”

“Your schedule? I don’t track you 24/7.”

“I barely know what you do half the time.”

“And honestly? He seems nice.”

The drama that happened today had already spread like wildfire through all the campus group chats
