My Parents Spoiled Adopted Daughter While Neglected Me, I Sneaked To Hometown Pack Chapter 05

Dad started yelling at me.

“Hannah. I just said you were being mature. Now I see you’ve been getting under Amy’s skin this whole time while we were getting ready.”

“No wonder you got lost as a kid. You’re nothing like a Raven daughter. No manners whatsoever.”

Normally, I would’ve kept my mouth shut.

But this was my last day with them. I didn’t feel like saving anyone’s feelings.

“You’re right, Dad,” I said. “‘Good fortune’? Yeah, right. I never had that—being part of this family.”

Amy heard the edge in my voice and cried even harder.

“Hannah, please don’t fight with Mom and Dad. This is all my fault! I’ll apologize, whatever you want. I just can’t stand seeing them hurt.”

Lawrence lost it.

“That’s enough! All of you! Hannah, you agreed to go by yourself last night. Now you’re starting drama again? What’s the point?”

“Mom and Dad went out of their way to get you into the Elite Academy. This is how you thank them?”

The accusations came at me like rocks.

But I didn’t have the energy to argue anymore.

What was the point?

There was no point.

Lawrence started pulling things out of his suitcase.

“If Hannah won’t go alone, I’ll go with her. Mom and Dad, you take Amy on the private jet. Hannah and I will take commercial. Problem solved.”

Amy shrieked and threw herself on Lawrence. “No! Absolutely not!”

“Mom and Dad don’t know Silvermoon Fen at all! What if something happens?”

Dad frowned deeply. “Lawrence has a point. We can’t just leave Amy unprotected. Besides, you can’t even get a ticket this late.”

Lawrence threw whatever was in his hand on the floor in frustration. “Then what do we do? Hannah won’t cooperate. Nobody can leave at this rate.”

He glanced at me as he spoke. The message was clear.

Mom bit her lip. “What if… I go with Hannah?”

Lawrence shot that down immediately. “No way. If you’re not there, who’s going to help with Amy?”

So, every single one of them was essential.

They couldn’t leave without any one of them.

Except me.

But it didn’t matter anymore. I was leaving this place for good.

“All right, everyone. Stop. I’ll fly commercial by myself. The seats are big and comfy. I’m sure it’ll be just lovely.”

All four of them let out a visible sigh of relief.

The tension drained out of the room in an instant.

Dad laughed. “Hannah—were you just messing with us? You’re getting pretty funny.”

Mom stroked my hair, her voice soft. “Hannah’s way more mature than her little sister. She was just teasing. Don’t do it again, okay?”

I watched their faces change in real-time and felt nothing but disgust.

Amy shot me a jealous look and shoved me away from Mom.

She hooked one arm through Dad’s and one through Mom’s, lifting her chin with pride. “I’m the baby of this family. Everyone has to spoil me, no matter what. No exceptions.”

“That’s right,” they cooed. “Forever and ever.”

Lawrence came over laughing and wrapped his arms around all three of them.

What a perfect little family.

And I was about to walk away from them forever.

Good riddance. I couldn’t wait to get back to Frostveil Island.
