My Parents Spoiled Adopted Daughter While Neglected Me, I Sneaked To Hometown Pack Chapter 01

My brother bought me a plane ticket to Silvermoon Fen. Alone.

“Hannah, don’t take the private jet with the rest of the family.”

“Ever since we brought you back from Frostveil Island to the pack house, Amy’s had a real problem with you being the Alpha’s actual daughter. So… just stay out of her sight for a while.”

When he saw my expression hadn’t changed, he kept going.

“Go ahead and help Amy get enrolled at the Werewolf Elite Academy over there.”

“You’ll be at the same school. Once we get Amy settled, we’ll come see you soon.”

I nodded and agreed.

The relief on my brother’s face was obvious.

What none of them knew was that I’d never submitted my application to the Elite Academy in the first place.

And I had no intention of waiting for them in Silvermoon Fen.

I’d already passed the pack aptitude test on Frostveil Island and been accepted into The Shadow Unit, the pack’s elite guard.

I was going home. Back to the pack territory where I’d been raised for ten years.

Where my adoptive parents, who’d loved me like their own, were buried.

Where my sister, who treated me like flesh and blood, still lived. Along with the playmates I’d had before I even learned how to shift.

This time, I wasn’t leaving them again.

A month before we were supposed to leave for Silvermoon Fen, my Alpha father finished up his pack related issues early and pushed back the pack meetings for the days we’d be gone.

My Luna mother took her adopted daughter shopping every single day, practically buying out the whole mall to get ready for the Elite Academy.

And my brother filed the flight plan early and had the private jet fully inspected and maintained.

He even stocked Amy’s seat with her favorite jerky snacks.

But the night before we were supposed to leave, everything fell apart.

“Alpha, Luna, you need to come see this!”

“Miss Amy is throwing a fit. She’s refusing to go to Silvermoon Fen.”

My parents ran upstairs, not even stopping to put on their shoes.

My brother came charging in from outside, leaving muddy paw prints all over the pack house’s wool carpet.

I sat in the living room for a minute, then went upstairs at my own pace.

The moment I reached the doorway, I heard them talking.

“Mom, Dad, you two take Hannah to the academy and get her enrolled. I’m not going.”

Dad shot it down immediately.

“No. This whole academy thing was set up for you. You’ve never been away from Ironclaw Pack, Amy. No way we’re letting you go alone.”

Amy sat on the bed, gripping the blanket with both hands, crying in that delicate, pitiful way of hers.

Her eyes were so swollen they looked like walnuts.

Mom and Dad sat on either side of her.

The second she saw me, she started sobbing even louder.

She clutched Dad’s arm and asked, her voice trembling with hurt, “But I don’t want to go with Hannah. Can’t we just not send her to Silvermoon Fen?”

She frowned at me, lowering her voice like she was being reasonable.

Dad’s face twisted with awkwardness. He opened his mouth, then closed it, looking back and forth between me and Amy.

I was his real daughter. I carried the Raven blood in my veins just like he did. But for ten years, we’d never been close.

Amy, no blood relation at all, had been raised by his side. Spoiled for eighteen years.

He didn’t know what to do.

Seeing him hesitate, Amy’s mood suddenly shifted.

She stood up and backed away, all the way to the other side of the bed.

Her crying took on a note of finality I’d never heard before.

“I’m just being greedy. Why would Alpha Raven ever hurt his real daughter for someone he adopted?”

“Fine. I’ll go jump off the balcony right now. Then Dad won’t have to choose.”

She scrambled off the bed and ran for the window.

Threw it open. “Amy!”

Dad gasped and collapsed back onto the bed, too weak to even stand.

My brother shot across the room.

The gust of wind from his movement stung my eyes.

When I opened them again, Amy was already in his arms, pulled down from the window.

She was curled against his chest, sobbing uncontrollably.

Her tears soaked through the front of his shirt, blooming outward into the shape of a heart.

Like his real heart had nearly jumped right out of his chest.
