My Mafia Husband Had Nine Mistresses, Then Said He Loved Me Chapter 15

Ludovica drank more than usual.

By the time the event ended, her cheeks were flushed.

Leonardo helped her back to her room and used a hot towel to wipe her face.

Ludovica was dizzy and felt the whole world spinning.

When Leonardo was about to leave, she instinctively grabbed his hand.

“Leonardo, why are you helping me so much?”

Leonardo lowered his head and looked at her, his dark eyes unreadable. His tone was still as lazy and casual as always.

“Don’t you know? Because you paid me a billion.”

Ludovica shook her dizzy head, drunkenness blurring her thoughts.

“I don’t think that’s why.”

But she did not know what the real reason was.

Leonardo said nothing. He only looked at her quietly.

One lay down, one sat beside her.

Because she was holding his sleeve, they were very close.

His breathing was hot, and her starry eyes were dazed.

Under the dim light, the atmosphere suddenly turned ambiguous.

Ludovica’s heart skipped a beat. She instinctively lowered her eyes and avoided his gaze.

“Forget it. Pretend I didn’t ask.”

As soon as she finished speaking, she was about to let go, but someone gently tucked the loose hair from her face behind her ear.

Leonardo’s eyes were deep. Without his usual careless playfulness, he looked strangely serious.

“Ludovica, do you really not remember me? Not even a little?”

Ludovica could not remember.

In her rule-bound life, if someone as reckless and careless as Leonardo had appeared, she would have

remembered.

But the truth was, she had no impression of him at all.

Three days later, the cruise ship docked on the coast of Alaska.

Ludovica had not decided on her next destination, so she booked a hotel and stayed there temporarily.

Leonardo seemed determined to follow her and rented the room next to hers directly.

Occasionally, he would book activities and drag Ludovica out with him.

They visited Glacier Bay together, took a helicopter to hike across blue ice, brought no luggage, and rode a vintage train to see snow mountains and waterfalls along the route.

Ludovica smiled more and more, freer than before.

When Federico found her, she had just returned from the dock with Leonardo and was laughing as they talked about the king crab they had just eaten.

When she saw Federico, the smile on her face faded instantly, and her eyes turned cold.

“What are you doing here?”

Federico looked at the deep wariness in her eyes, and his chest felt crushed by a boulder.

He forced down the tightness in his throat, his voice hoarse.

“Ludovica, it’s been three months. You must be done throwing your tantrum. Come home with me.”

Ludovica suddenly found it laughable.

“Tantrum? Federico, why do you still think I’m just throwing a tantrum? Didn’t you see the divorce certificate?

We’re already divorced.”

Federico’s hand at his side clenched abruptly, his voice tight.

“I didn’t agree. Ludovica, I was wrong before. I’ve already punished Silvia. What else do you want me to do before you’ll forgive me?”

Ludovica spoke without expression. “Federico, do you think that as long as you apologize, everything can be

erased?”

Federico was about to nod, but when he met Ludovica’s mocking expression, all color drained from his face.

Ludovica smiled faintly.

“Do you remember the first thing you said to me in the basement after throwing me against the wall that day?”

[Ludovica, is this how the first lady of the Cesarini family behaves? Beating someone like a street shrew?]

Federico remembered too.

His breath hitched, and regret filled his eyes.

He wanted to explain that he had been too anxious.

He also wanted to say he had only wanted to pressure her, to make her stay obediently by his side.

But no explanation could erase the fact that he had hurt Ludovica.

“If you’re holding that against me, I apologize.”

Ludovica sneered. “Federico, your apology is worthless to me. And you know better than anyone that from beginning to end, you only treated me as a tool to maintain the Cesarini family’s image.”

He wanted to tame her.

He wanted her to endure his affairs and become the obedient, submissive Donna Ludovica without

complaint.

If she showed even the slightest sign of defiance and challenged his authority, he would do everything

possible to crush her.

Even if it meant locking her in the basement.

Even if it meant throwing her to Silvia’s friends, knowing full well she might be in danger and choosing not to

care.

He was cold and cruel.

In the name of loving her, he had pushed her into hell with his own hands.

She no longer cared about him, but she would never forgive him.
