Ludovica clenched her fingers hard, swallowed the humiliation in her chest, and turned toward the living room.
When she came back, she had a pair of slippers in her hands.
She placed them beside Silvia’s feet and slowly bent her knees.
“Miss Silvia, please change your shoes.”
The words had barely left her mouth when a heavy force shoved her to the floor.
Her arm crashed into the half-burned rose branches, and blisters erupted across her skin.
Federico’s face was terrifyingly dark.
“Ludovica! Is it that hard to soften up to me? So hard that even when I degrade you like this, you’ll accept it like you enjoy it?”
Ludovica was so pale from pain that cold sweat slid down her temples.
