My Mafia Husband Had Nine Mistresses, Then Said He Loved Me Chapter 02
After leaving the hospital, Ludovica went to an underground cafe and pushed the Marriage Dissolution Agreement toward Leonardo Ricasoli.
“Attorney Ricasoli, as long as you help me get the divorce certificate, name your price.”
No lawyer in Rome dared take her divorce case. She had no choice but to go all in and find Leonardo Ricasoli, a gray lawyer who operated on the edge of the law.
Leonardo smiled without really smiling. “I, Leonardo Ricasoli, never take a bad deal. What can you give me?”
“Anything, as long as you’re willing to help me.”
“Anything?” Leonardo curled his lips into an amused smirk as his palm slowly covered the back of her hand. “Including… you?”
Ludovica pulled her hand back, her beautiful face calm. “Give me the hotel address. I’ll be there on time.”
Leonardo stared at her for a second, then suddenly scoffed and withdrew his hand.
“Forget it. I’m not into married women. But the ring on your hand is nice.”
Ludovica instinctively looked down.
Back then, Federico had been domineering and affectionate as he slid this ten-carat pink diamond ring onto her finger.
[For the rest of your life, you are mine. You can only stay by my side.]
At the time, she never imagined that his love was a rotting swamp, suffocating and nauseating.
She took off the ring directly and handed it to him.
“Is half a month enough?”
Leonardo toyed with the ring casually, his tone teasing. “Half a month doesn’t match the price Donna Ludovica paid. One week. I’ll have someone deliver the divorce certificate to you.”
Ludovica thanked him solemnly, and the tension in her chest finally eased for the first time in a long while.
She left the cafe and returned to the villa.
The moment she entered, Silvia sent her a video.
In the video, Federico was kneeling on one knee, putting a ring on Silvia’s hand. His domineering voice could not hide its tenderness.
“What happened this morning wronged you. I’ll put this ring on you. From now on, be good and stay as my second wife, hm?”
Ludovica turned off her phone without expression.
How ironic.
She had just traded the wedding ring he gave her for freedom for the rest of her life, and he had turned around and given another ring to another woman just to make her happy.
So in his eyes, wedding rings never represented loyalty or restraint.
They were only tools for his affairs.
Fortunately, she would soon be able to leave him.
She tossed her phone onto the table. After showering, she went to bed alone.
She had just lain down when the bedroom door opened.
Federico carried the damp scent of a fresh shower as he pressed her beneath him.
“Why did you sleep without waiting for me, hm?”
Ludovica fought the urge to push him away and shook her head with a smile.
“I didn’t. I’m just a little tired.”
Federico stared at her quietly for a while. Then he noticed her left hand, and his dark eyes narrowed dangerously.
“And you say you’re not angry? The ring is gone. Ludovica, I told you I don’t like it when you take off your ring.”
Ludovica’s heart raced as if it were about to burst out of her chest.
She forced out a smile. “I threw it away. Federico, you can’t be allowed to cheat while I’m not allowed to throw a fit. That’s not how the world works.”
She opened the video Silvia had sent and threw the phone beside him.
Federico clicked it open.
After watching it, he gave a low laugh. His hand slipped under her clothes, and a shower of kisses fell by her ear.
“So you’re jealous and wronged again. Fine. I was just coaxing a little girl. Don’t take it seriously.”
Ludovica suddenly felt cold all over.
So he knew she felt wronged.
So he knew he had hurt her.
But he could apologize with his mouth while driving the knife deeper into her heart.
Ludovica bit her lip hard and did not resist.
She could not let him notice anything unusual.
She could not let him know she had decided to leave.
