My Husband Told Me To Go West And The Comments Said Don’t Chapter 08

Soon, I saw the news-Evan Roth and Serena White had both been fired.

Without Evan as its backbone, the company’s performance started to plummet.

When Evan got home, he found the place empty.

I’d moved out right after the rescue.

He called me.

First words out of his mouth:

“Did you really have to take it this far?”

“Do you have any idea what you’ve reduced Serena to?”

“I did something to her?”

I almost laughed.

“And you didn’t?”

His voice bristled with anger.

“Her son is dead because of you. How far are you going to take this?!”

“Her son is dead because of me?”

I laughed–but there was no humor in it.

“Evan, you two were the ones trying to kill my son!”

“If I’d actually listened to you, Leo would be the one dead right now!”

“You don’t get to play the victim. What happened to you? You brought it on yourselves.’

{ “You-!”

He was speechless.

The phone was snatched away.

Then Serena’s voice came through, shrieking with rage:

“Luna! You’re a bitch! You treat human life like dirt-you’ll get what’s coming to you!”

I hung up.

Then I went to the hospital to see Les

But the second I walked in, I saw his vitals had flatlined

Honged at him.

That’s when I noticed-

His oxygen tube had been pulled out.

I stood outside the ER, heart pounding, waiting

“We caught it in time. He’ll be fine.”

Hearing those words, I nearly collapsed

I went straight to check the security footage.

It didn’t take long

I found Serena in the psychiatric wing

“Ma’am? It’s not your turn yet, you’ll have to-”

The therapist’s eyes went wide as I grabbed Serena by the hair.

I slammed her to the ground.

“Ma’am! Stop-please!”

But they couldn’t hold me back.

Thad Serena by the throat.

I slapped her.

Once Twice. Again and again.

Until her lip split.

Until tears ran down her face.

That’s when Evan burst in

Are you insane?”

He shoved me off.

Serena was crumpled in his arms, sobbing.

Evan’s eyes were bloodshot.

“Who said you could touch her?!”

“She pulled Leo’s oxygen tube!”

Evan froze.

Then his jaw tightened.

“You pushed her to this! She’s not in her right mind! You think she’d hurt our son for no reason?!”

I swung my bag at his face.

The buckle caught his eye.

Blood splattered on the floor.

Evan stared at me, breathing hard.

He pulled out his phone.

“Yeah, 911? I need to report an assault.”

A few minutes later, the cops took us in.

“I don’t want her apology!”

In the mediation room, Serena glared at me.

“She’s going to pay for this.”

I met her gaze.

“What do you want?”

Serena touched her bruised face.

“Twenty thousand. For medical bills.”

I blinked.

The officer blinked too.

serena pressed on

“I paid a fortune for this face Twenty thousand I’m being generous

My fists clenched

She smirked

“What’s wrong? Can’t afford it?”

“Oh, right all your money comes from Evan anyway. What are you without him?”

“You can’t pay? Then enjoy jail.”

I was silent for a moment

My eyes met Evan’s.

His face was cold.

“Don’t look at me. You did this to yourself. I’m not paying a cent.”

Serena’s smirk widened.

I took a breath.

“Fine. I’ll pay.”

She blinked.

The next second, I handed her a card.

She took it, suspicious. Checked it.

Real.

Twenty thousand exactly.

She smirked and slipped it into her bag.

We left the station. Evan walked her to his car.

Serena turned back to me.

“What happened to all that attitude? You’re not so tough now, are you?”
