My Ghost Haunted My Husband for 7 Years Chapter 04
The psychic sat before the working altar, chanting obscure incantations.
A strange tingling sensation spread through my ghostly form. I closed my eyes, waiting for the door to the afterlife to open. I’ll dissipate.
Time crawled by. The psychic finished his ritual and bowed toward the Harrisons.
“Congratulations, Mr. Harrison. Your late wife’s soul has dispersed. She will not appear again.”
I floated in midair, quietly watching the whole farce.
Awkwardly enough, there wasn’t the slightest sign of me fading away.
I looked up and met Tyler’s gaze.
He was frozen too.
Tyler’s parents didn’t notice anything off. They stuffed cash into the psychic’s hands and showered
him with thanks.
Tyler didn’t expose it. He didn’t tell his parents I was still here.
After the psychic left, Philippa let out a long sigh of relief. “Finally got rid of that curse. Tyler and Edith can get their marriage license smoothly.”
Tyler glanced at me and gave a faint nod. “Mm.”
Once the elders were gone, Tyler finally looked at me directly, his eyes cold.
“Louisa. Don’t tell me you made up fake wishes just to keep hanging around me.”
I was just as confused. “I don’t know. I want to leave too.”
He let out a harsh laugh, his face full of disbelief. “Pure nonsense.”
“We’re getting the marriage license the day after tomorrow. If you dare stir up more trouble, your soul will shatter and dissipate.”
That’s when it clicked.
He was afraid his family would find out I hadn’t left and it would delay his wedding to Edith.
I laughed back, cold and sharp. “The truth stands on its own. I never did any of those things.”
They planned to get the marriage license in three days. The Harrisons took it extremely seriously, personally overseeing everything from what to wear to what documents to bring.
When preparations were nearly done, Tyler’s assistant came to confirm.
“Mr. Harrison, just to confirm the date with you. The date for the marriage license is scheduled on October seventh. Is it okay? Do we need to change it?”
Tyler was about to nod when I shot in front of him, incredulous.
“Tyler. You set the date on October seventh?”
He frowned, genuinely confused. “What’s wrong with it?”
His face was calm, as if the date didn’t mean a thing.
I let out a cold laugh. “You’ve forgotten? That day is the anniversary of my death.”
I’d been dead seven years. The Harrisons didn’t remember. Neither did he.
Hearing that, Tyler’s face went pale.
The assistant looked confused. “Mr. Harrison, is there a problem with the date?”
Tyler snapped back to himself, expression smooth as he shook his head. “No. Leave it.”
With that, he turned and walked back into the villa.
Neither of us spoke the whole way back.
Only after we were inside did I call out to him. “Tyler.”
“On the day I died, do you remember what you were doing?”
Tyler’s eyes flickered, then he shook his head. “No.”
“It’s been so long. Who remembers that kind of thing?”
A wave of cold fury washed over me. I pulled my lips into a thin, bitter smile.
“I remember. I’ll remember it forever.”
