My Cheating Girlfriend Chapter 06
Jenna didn’t say anything because she knew herself that it was all nonsense.
Jenna opened her mouth in despair, but all she managed to say was, “I didn’t get married.”
So what?
Did that mean she deserved forgiveness? Wasn’t that far too easy?
At least for me, compromise had never been an option.
The more I listened, the more disappointed I felt. Jenna seemed like a stranger standing in front of me.
I remembered Jenna from before, the one who once stumbled upon a lawn wedding, rushed home in excitement, and threw herself into my arms.
She said she felt happiness spreading through her. She said she wanted to walk through life with me. She said she wanted only
But people changed.
Maybe those promises were real when she said them, but their expiration date was as brief and sudden as a spark flashing out in the dark.
Jenna still stood there and refused to leave.
To her, not getting married was like a get-out-of-jail-free card.
I retrieved my phone and opened my chat history with Henry. I deliberately tapped on a video.
The moment I pressed play, obscene audio filled the space between us.
Jenna’s face turned pale.
Henry’s low, hoarse voice echoed clearly. “Jenna, right now, who do you like more? Me, or Chris?”
Back then, she hadn’t hesitated for even a second. “You. How could he compare? You’re so much more interesting!”
“Then let’s play a game. He’s a fashion designer, right? How about we let him design our wedding outfits?”
“Isn’t that a little too much…”
Henry cut her off. “You’ll wear the wedding dress Chris designed and marry me. In a way, it’s like Chris is there with us. Doesn’t that excite you?”
After a long pause, Jenna said yes.
Not long after that, my sketches disappeared.
I looked at the woman in front of me, who had snatched my phone but was trembling so badly she couldn’t even turn off the screen. The disgust I thought had faded surged back again.
With deliberate cruelty, I asked, “Do you know how it felt for me to see and hear all of that?”
Jenna looked at me with desperation in her eyes. She kept shaking her head.
“You disgust me.”
I had given her the crystal snow globe on purpose. The card was also written on purpose. There was no reason I should suffer this much while they walked away unscathed.
I had underestimated how significant the snow globe was, so the final piece never got played.
“Did you keep the bouquet? Did you see what was inside?”
Jenna froze. She reached for my hand. I stepped back, and hurt appeared in her eyes.
“You left something for me, didn’t you? I’ll go back and look right now. Please wait for me.”
I looked down at Jenna, who had crouched in front of me and was staring up in desperation.
I sneered. “Go see it first. Then we’ll talk.”
She had no idea that what she thought was a sure win was nothing more than an illusion.
The day I learned about Jenna’s affair, I packed up everything I owned. All that remained was a stuffed-toy security camera.
I mailed the rest of my belongings to Jenna’s company. The camera was positioned to capture the entire living room. I opened the app and watched the footage from the beginning.
I had bought it for Jenna because she said she got scared living alone when I traveled for work. I never imagined it would record Henry and Jenna together.
I didn’t keep watching. I tossed the phone onto the couch and sat down on the floor.
Twenty minutes later, Jenna closed the door and left.
Henry stayed behind and answered a call.
“Everything’s going smoothly. Don’t worry. The contract’s signed. Jenna won’t realize that the dual-pricing clause is a trap. Once it’s exposed, we’ll move ahead with the acquisition as planned. Honestly, I kind of fell for her. If she’d been smart enough to dump her boyfriend, I wouldn’t have minded keeping her. It’s too bad I had to step in myself.”
