I couldn’t answer.
Just felt… done. Completely drained.
But Derek? My silence cut him deep.
He grabbed my collar with both hands, yanked me up. Laughing-this ugly, twisted sound:
“You brought this on yourself, Liv.”
“I was gonna let this shit go after tonight. But now? Now I’m making you feel everything I felt.”
He threw me backward and snapped his fingers at Quinn in one motion.
“Our wedding. You’re gonna be the bride.”
Quinn practically flew into his arms.
“Seriously? Oh my god, yes! But-” Her eyes locked on me, glinting. “Olivia has to be my maid of honor. Five years ago, I was hers. Fair’s fair, right?”
“Perfect.” Derek stared straight at me. “She can hold our rings too.”
Every word hit like a blade twisting deeper into my chest.
I looked up at him. Couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
Tried to say no. My throat locked up. Just shook my head-frantic, silent, begging.
Derek’s grin turned wild:
“Hurts, doesn’t it? Feels like shit?”
“Good. That’s exactly how I felt five years ago when you married someone else.”
I stared at his face-warped with hate, unrecognizable.
And suddenly… I got it.
He didn’t want things to be fair.
He wanted me to suffer the way he did.
The more I hurt, the happier he’d be.
So I touched my chest-numb now, past the pain-and forced a smile:
“No.”
“Derek. I’m not hurt. I’m just disgusted.”
Something snapped in him.
He shoved Quinn aside. Grabbed me by the arm. Started hauling me upstairs.

When we passed the master bedroom, he hesitated
then kicked open the dost next to it and hurled me inside
I threw myself at the door as it slammed shut

From the other side, Derek’s voice dropped to something cold and dead:
“Think that’s disgusting? Just wait. Tonight’s gonna got way worse,”
“Quinn Get up here.”
I stood there, frozen.
My whole body went cold
