Mission Fail: Kill Me Now Chapter 11

Mission Fail: Kill Me Now Chapter 11

The aftermath of the car accident left him with lingering complications. The pain was so severe that at

times he wished he could simply die.

Finn was locked inside that pitch-black basement by his father, holding tightly onto the camera I had once given him. With my departure, the fate of being beaten by his father and those so-called “friends” once again returned to him. Every single day, he lived in torment, but this time, there was no one left to

stand in front of him.

Leo’s company plummeted after losing my research. In order to keep it afloat, his parents turned their

attention to him. They sent him to different male and female executives, trading him for funding to

sustain the company. The once-proud Leo had fallen from grace. He woke up countless nights from

nightmares, constantly calling out my name, desperately hoping that I would appear.

As for Lucas, after I left, his legs quickly relapsed into paralysis. Even after consulting many famous

doctors, he was told there was no hope of standing again. With that, the shareholders who once

supported him all shifted their attention to other members of the Lindt family. Losing everything, Lucas

was subjected to even harsher suppression than before, so much so that even eating a proper meal

became a struggle.

A few months later, the four of them finally found a chance to meet again. They captured Hannah and

locked her in a basement, making her endure everything I had once suffered. When Hannah was tortured

to the brink of death, the four of them collapsed to their knees in pain, holding onto my photo as tears

streamed down their faces.

“Chloe, as your brother, I know I was wrong. Come back, okay? You’re the only family I have left in this

world.”

After saying that, Casey coughed up several mouthfuls of dark blood, his breath growing weaker by the

second.

Finn held the paper airplane we had made together as children, tears pooling in his eyes.

“Chloe, didn’t we promise to be friends for life? But I broke my promise and lost you.”

Every word he spoke tugged at his broken bones, leaving his face increasingly pale from the pain.

Leo’s body was covered in bruises. Having lost all his value, he had been cast out of the family, surviving only by selling himself.

“Chloe, I’m barely holding on, just so that I can see you one more time. Please, come back, okay?”

The engagement ring I once shared with Lucas accidentally fell to the ground. He dragged himself off his wheelchair, crawling and stumbling just to grab it.

“Chloe, we were supposed to get married, weren’t we? I’ll wait for you forever.”

His legs had withered into something resembling thin, brittle sticks of bone. It was an eerie sight to

witness.

The scene faded there. I let out a long breath and smiled as I walked toward Mom and my brother, Ben,

who were done cooking.

“Look what I brought you. Where’s Simon? He used to love Mom’s cooking the most.”

Just then, hurried footsteps came from behind. Simon walked in holding a large birthday cake.

“I was preparing your cake, of course! This thing is huge. I barely managed to bring it over. It’s your favorite flavor, isn’t it? We all remembered.”

Laughter filled the room as I blew out the candles and made a new birthday wish. I wished for my family and friends to live safe and peaceful lives. As for those people from that other world, from this moment on, they would be erased from my memory.
