Luna’s Goodbye to Her Deceitful Alpha Chapter 06
The whole ceremony had a strange, almost eerie,Â
comical absurdity.Â
Brenda wore the dress I had custom–made. TheÂ
one tailored to my measurements and my taste.Â
On her, the zipper in the back wouldn’t go up noÂ
matter how hard she tried.Â
The tight fabric squeezed her like a pathetic, tied–up puppet. She had to hold it together with pins in the back, barely keeping it in place.Â
Then there was the moonstone ring Sebastian hadÂ
custom–made for me. The one with “S & N”Â
engraved on the inside.Â
On Brenda’s finger, it was loose. Way too loose. She had to clench her fist tight, terrified it wouldÂ
fall off in front of everyone.Â
Sebastian stood at the altar, looking out at theÂ
pack members below. He saw their curious looks,Â
heard their whispers. The unease in his chestÂ
grew like wild weeds.Â
He kept glancing at the door, hoping for that familiar figure to come bursting in, crying, fighting.Â
to take back her place as his Luna. Just like hisÂ
men had predicted.Â
The pack priest asked him solemnly, “AlphaÂ
Sebastian, do you wish to take Brenda as yourÂ
mate, for as long as-”Â
Before the words were even finished, SebastianÂ
snapped out of his fantasy. He looked at Brenda inÂ
front of him. Her heavy makeup. Her calculating.Â
eyes. He couldn’t lie to himself anymore.Â
A roar tore out of him. “I don’t!”Â
Then, as the entire crowd of pack membersÂ
gasped, he completely lost it like a madman.Â
He yanked the bow tie off his neck and launchedÂ
himself off the altar.Â
He ran. He didn’t look back. He fled from the farceÂ
he had created himself.Â
Sebastian running from his own bondingÂ
ceremony became a joke across every pack.Â
He searched for me like a madman.Â
He called my old, disconnected phone until it died.Â
He harassed my relatives back in Graymaw Pack.Â
He even camped outside my friend’s old place, theÂ
one I’d already moved out of.Â
The servant told me his eyes were bloodshot. HeÂ
looked like a walking corpse. The Alpha dignity heÂ
had fought so hard to maintain was completelyÂ
shattered.Â
And me? I had made it to Evernight Grove. I joinedÂ
Darkmoon Pack.Â
The breeze off Mistveil Lake blew away theÂ
darkness in my heart.Â
I fell in love with the Alpha of Darkmoon Pack.Â
William. The undisputed wolf king of EvernightÂ
Grove.Â
We walked side by side. He talked about his plans. to grow the pack. His eyes shone with a passionÂ
for the future.Â
That light? I had never seen it in Sebastian’s eyes.Â
William reached out and tucked a strand ofÂ
wind–blown hair behind my ear.Â
In that moment, the adoration in his gaze brokeÂ
something inside me. All the pain I had bottled upÂ
came flooding out.Â
I stood on my toes and kissed him.Â
Someone caught it on camera and shared itÂ
online.Â
They called it The Kiss of New Beginnings.Â
Everyone reposted it because of its pure beauty. Until it made its way to Sebastian.Â
Logan sent him the damning evidence.Â
In the photo, I was smiling. Bright. Leaning intoÂ
another man’s arms. Glowing.Â
It was the last straw.Â
He didn’t pack. He didn’t wait. He just raced toward Evernight Grove.Â
His eyes were full of vjolent possessiveness. He swore he would drag that shameless she–wolfÂ
back.Â
At that moment, I was having dinner with WilliamÂ
at a little French bistro.Â
He was telling me funny stories from his training days. I was laughing. Smiling.Â
A sense of peace I hadn’t felt in a long time wrapped around me.Â
Then the restaurant door slammed open.Â
Sebastian stood there. His suit was a mess. HisÂ
hair was wild. His eyes were bloodshot.Â
He locked his eyes on me and walked toward us, step by step.Â
He seized my wrist. Squeezed so hard I thought he might break the bones.Â
“Nicole!” he snarled. “How dare you cheat on me?”Â
The words came out through clenched teeth. Low. Dangerous.Â
William stood up immediately. He put a hand on my shoulder and stepped in front of me, shielding my body with his.Â
I lifted my head and looked at Sebastian’s face, twisted with rage.Â
I wasn’t scared. If anything, I felt a strange sense of satisfaction. Finally.Â
Slowly, deliberately, I pried his fingers off me one.Â
by one and pulled my hand free.Â
I looked him up and down. A mocking smile curled on my lips.Â
“Alpha Sebastian,” I said. “Didn’t you lose your memory? I thought you didn’t remember me.”Â
I didn’t even bother looking at him again. I turned and leaned into William’s chest, my voice drippingÂ
with sweetness.Â
“I’m just an outsider wolf. I could never be Stonevein Pack’s Luna. All I want is a peaceful life. Right, William?”Â
William played along. He wrapped his arm aroundÂ
my waist. “Of course. Nicole deserves the best inÂ
the world.”Â
That move? It was a clear message. A claim.Â
Sebastian’s face turned blood red in an instant.Â
“Nicole!” he roared. “Don’t play games with me!”Â
“You think I don’t know you’re acting? You still loveÂ
- me. You’re still carrying my pup!”
