Listening to My Unborn Baby, I Became the Elite Darling Chapter 10
Inside my womb, the baby let out a cold, disdainful laugh.
[Wow. This so-called first love is seriously pathetic.]
[Back then she acted all untouchable and treated Dad like some desperate backup option,]
[Now that she realizes Dad’s actually falling for Mom, she’s pulling every dirty trick possible. First framing Mom with the fake DNA test, now dragging her grandfather here to force a marriage.]
[Does she seriously think Dad’s gonna cave to pressure like this?]
[The more she acts crazy, the faster the fantasy image Dad had of her shatters.]
[Besides, Grandpa and Grandma Sterling aren’t pushovers. Threatening them with canceled business deals is honestly hilarious.]
Hearing the baby say all that instantly calmed my nerves.
She was right.
Eleanor Sterling was absolutely not someone to be threatened.
And Julian had always been ruthless and decisive in business. There was no way he’d tolerate people barging in here making demands.
Vivian dragging her grandfather into this wasn’t saving their relationship.
It was destroying it faster.
Still, this wasn’t really my place to speak.
So I shrank beneath the blanket with a frightened expression, leaving only my eyes visible while quietly preparing to watch the drama unfold.
Unfortunately, Julian misunderstood completely.
Thinking I’d been frightened, his handsome face darkened instantly.
“Who allowed you people in here?” he thundered. “You scared Clara and the baby!”
His icy glare snapped toward the bodyguards outside the room.
“What exactly am I paying you for? If you can’t even stop random people from barging in here,
don’t bother showing up to work tomorrow!”
Julian’s furious voice filled the room with terrifying pressure.
The bodyguards immediately rushed inside apologizing nervously.
“Mr. Sterling, we’re sorry! They claimed Miss Ashford was your fiancée and also mentioned the business partnership between your families, so we didn’t dare stop them…”
Julian’s expression turned even colder.
“Then let me make this perfectly clear.”
His voice was sharp enough to cut glass.
“From this moment on, Clara is the Sterling family’s highest priority. Everything comes second to her safety and health.”
He glanced at every guard in the room one by one.
“Other than me and my immediate family, anyone who attempts to harass Clara gets removed immediately.”
Julian never directly responded to Charles Ashford’s threats.
But that single order already made his stance crystal clear.
He intended to keep me by his side within the Sterling family.
And neither the Ashfords nor Vivian meant anything to him anymore.
Eleanor nodded approvingly at Julian’s response.
Charles and Vivian, however, looked absolutely furious.
“Julian!” Charles barked. “What kind of spell did this woman put on you? Our families have been close for generations!”
Vivian looked close to exploding.
“We’ve known each other for fifteen years! Are you seriously choosing some dirt-poor farm girl over me?!”
I frowned immediately.
“I need to correct something.”
The entire room went quiet as I slowly sat up.
“My parents work honestly for a living. They grow food with their own hands. They work hard every
day and have never stolen from anyone.”
I looked directly at Vivian.
“There’s nothing shameful about farming. There’s nothing shameful about raising livestock. And there’s definitely nothing shameful about being poor.”
My voice turned colder.
“But looking down on hardworking people just because you were born rich? That’s what’s truly
embarrassing.”
It was the first time I’d shown this side of myself.
Julian’s face had been stormy moments ago, but the instant he saw me stand up for myself, the corners of his lips lifted slightly.
Vivian nearly twisted with rage seeing the way he looked at me.
“Julian, you liar!” she screamed. “You said you’d wait for me forever!”
Julian gave her an exhausted look full of disgust.
“Vivian, have you ever actually respected me all these years?”
He let out a cold laugh.
“No. You just enjoyed being worshipped.”
“I got tired of your games a long time ago. And now that I see who you really are, I realize you’re nothing like the person I once imagined.”
His eyes turned completely emotionless.
“All I feel toward you now is annoyance.”
Then he spoke one final sentence.
“Before I start truly hating you, I suggest you leave quietly.”
So this was what happened when a man finally stopped obsessing over his unattainable first love/
Turns out she became ordinary very quickly.
Eleanor stepped forward powerfully, personally ending the farce once and for all.
“Vivian, I still haven’t settled the matter of you using a fake DNA test to slander Clara. And yet you actually had the nerve to come here and cause more trouble.”
Her expression turned icy.
“You’re arrogant, manipulative, and completely lacking in class. You are absolutely not suitable to become Julian’s wife.”
She looked directly at Charles Ashford.
“As for the business partnerships between our families, feel free to cancel them if you’d like. There are countless companies waiting for the chance to take your place.”
Then Eleanor waved dismissively toward the door.
“Escort them out.”
A smug smile appeared on her elegant face.
“And make sure nobody interrupts my son and daughter-in-law’s date.”
My brain completely short-circuited.
Daughter-in-law?!
