Last Life, I Divorced Him and He Became a Billionaire. This Life, I’m Keeping the Billionaire Chapter 08
He looked at me wordlessly, and I met his gaze calmly.
After a long moment, Caspian pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheek, “You look well. Still got
energy to joke.”
I smiled slightly and gestured beside me, “Since you’re here, come see my baby.”
Caspian leaned over.
He was in his mid-thirties, old enough to have been a father long ago.
As he looked at the tiny baby, an unfamiliar wave of emotion washed over him.
He turned back to me, “Where’s her father?”
I shrugged, “Busy with work.”
“But…”
“The nanny will be here soon.”
Caspian fell silent. The room grew quiet for a while.
He stood up to leave, then suddenly turned around, “Alina is back. Be prepared.”
My heart skipped a beat, “How come?”
Wasn’t she not supposed to return for another six months?
Caspian looked straight into my eyes, “I saw her at the airport yesterday when I got back from a business trip. She was alone. I don’t think she’s met Hudson yet.”
Now that Alina was back, everything was about to change.
Sure enough, after that day, Hudson started disappearing from time to time.
He didn’t come to see the baby, and when I messaged him, it was like sending messages into the void.
Five days later, Hudson showed up again.
There was a hickey on his neck, and his eyes held nothing but guilt when he looked at me.
He hesitated, “Willow, I need to talk to you about something…”
“What is it?”
“Alina’s back. She has cancer and got divorced. I can’t let her go through this alone.”
I stared straight into Hudson’s eyes. Even though I already knew the answer, I forced myself to hear him say
- “So what?”
Hudson lowered his head guiltily. “Let’s get a divorce. You keep the child. I’ll walk away with nothing.”
