Last Life, I Divorced Him and He Became a Billionaire. This Life, I’m Keeping the Billionaire Chapter 06

He said he was looking at the diamond ring because his wife had always wanted to try it on with him before

she died.

It was a onemilliondollar pink diamond, something he could easily afford.

But Caspian had been too busy with work to make time for it.

Now that his wife was gone, he was overwhelmed with grief. He couldn’t stay home, so he wandered out and

spotted the shop, which brought the memory back.

I looked at him and slid the ring onto his ring finger. “How does it look, Mr. Vanderbilt?”

His brows relaxed slightly, though I couldn’t tell what was going through his mind. “It really is beautiful.”

The corners of his eyes were painfully red.

I pretended not to notice.

I took the ring off and went to look at the gold jewelry.

Once Caspian had calmed down, he walked over and saw me holding a thick gold bracelet.

He smiled faintly, something he rarely did. “My wife always liked jade and emeralds. Your taste is rather…

down-to-earth.”

What did he know? Someday gold would skyrocket to a level that would blow everyone’s mind.

I gave Caspian a playful glare and took the bracelet to pay.

After paying, we went to a café.

Caspian nodded toward my belly. “You know about your husband, don’t you?”

Normally, the head of the Vanderbilt Group wouldn’t meddle in such things.

But he brought it up anyway, for some reason.

My heart stirred.

“You mean Alina?”

He smiled, “So you do know.”

He sounded curious, “And you’re okay with that?”

I licked my lips, “Sometimes, in certain situations, you just get pushed along by fate.”

Caspian said nothing more. He lifted his coffee and took a sip.

I looked at his faint, knowing smile and thought of something else.

As I recalled, Caspian’s health wasn’t great. The child he had after remarrying was conceived through

medical intervention after much difficulty.

He was cold and distant, completely wrapped up in his work.

His second wife was also a wealthy woman, and they married to boost their careers.

If Alina was coming back sooner or later, Hudson and I would get divorced eventually.

So why shouldn’t I line up a new partner in advance?

Caspian, at least, seemed like a pretty good catch.
