I’m Not His White Rose Anymore Chapter 16
As I was leaving the Moretti estate, Lorenzo happened to be returning from the amusement park, carrying Lina.
It was a bit chilly today.
Isabella had a trench coat on over her dress.
The three of them entered through the main gate, looking so harmonious and happy.
But when Lina saw me, she said, almost deliberately, “Godfather, from now on, can I call you Daddy?”
The adoption must have gone through.
Lorenzo had finally gotten his wish and made Lina his daughter. How nice.
Lorenzo looked a bit awkward, but he didn’t show it.
He looked at me with a rare gentleness.
“What are you doing here? Stay for dinner.”
I glanced at Lina’s hostile expression and smiled. “No, thank you. I don’t want to intrude.”
Polite and distant.
I gave a slight nod and walked away.
A sudden panic seized Lorenzo. He put Lina down and chased after me.
“Vivian!”
I turned back. “Yes?”
Lorenzo looked at me seriously. “Wait for me to come back!”
I glanced at the unfriendly stares of the mother and daughter who had followed him out, and waved with a smile.
“Goodbye, Lorenzo.”
Goodbye, forever.
That night, I left for Nevada with the professor in a special vehicle, under military escort.
