I Slapped the Villain After 99 Rebirths Chapter 06
I’d changed the part where Joseph and Benjamin became enemies, and I felt great about it.
It was hot outside, and I couldn’t wait to leave.
As I was about to say goodbye and start walking my bike, Joseph swung his leg over and sat on the back.
I frowned. “What are you doing?”
“Take me for a ride,” he said flatly.
“Huh?” I stared at him in disbelief. “Are you serious? Me take you?”
“What’s the problem?”
“The problem is, do you have any idea how much you weigh?!”
I glared at Joseph. “If anything, you should be taking me!”
He suddenly smiled. “Okay.”
That smile made my heart skip a beat.
How can someone look so beautiful and handsome when they smile?
Mother Nature definitely has her favorites.
[Girl, why not just go with the flow and win Joseph over?]
[Yeah! He’s avoiding becoming enemies with the male lead, which lets the female lead succeed.]
[Look at him. Joseph’s hot, rich, and smart. You’re not losing anything!]
The chat’s logic was convincing. But Joseph was destined for a life of crime. No thanks.
I shook my head vigorously.
[You can change him! Lead him toward the light!]
[Seriously, girl, think about it! Joseph is a total catch! And he’s very… capable. Your future married life looks pretty great!]
I blushed.
I couldn’t tell if it was the summer heat or my own face.
Joseph pedaled my bike, turning onto a tree-lined path.
The wind shifted, blowing from the front, ballooning his loose jersey.
The fabric kept brushing against my cheek.
To keep his sweaty shirt from smacking me in the face, I reached out and grabbed the sides of it.
Joseph braked suddenly.
“What’s-”
He cut me off, grabbing my wrist and pressing my hand against his abdomen.
His voice drifted back to me on the wind, “No need to test the waters. I’m in a good mood, so I’ll let you hold
on.”
I bumped into Joseph’s back.
His body heat felt like it was burning my arm through his shirt.
The bike tires crunched over the gravel as patches of sunlight flickered across the path.
The wind tousled my hair, and made my heart race.
