I Saved My Fiancé Before He Became a Billionaire Chapter 11

I Saved My Fiancé Before He Became a Billionaire Chapter 11

The world shifted violently, like sand falling through my fingers.

Everything blurred, twisted, faded away.

Then cleared again, sharp and bright.

I was home.

The warm, safe, beautiful home I shared with future Elias.

I broke down crying immediately, sobbing uncontrollably, my whole body shaking.

Then I was pulled gently into a warm, familiar, strong embrace.

A man held me close, soothing me gently, skillfully, like he’d done it a thousand times.

“Bad dream? Did you have a bad dream, my love?”

Elias brushed my messy hair softly and held me tightly, securely.

“It’s okay, it’s okay. I’m here. I’m right here. You’re safe.”

I cried for a long, long time before I could choke out the words, my voice broken and shaky.

“I went back to your prep school years. To high school.”

“It didn’t feel like a dream. It was so real. Every second.”

“They hurt you. All of them. Over and over.”

“You’re so good. So kind. So perfect. Why did they treat you like that? Why?”

Elias’s body stiffened slightly in my arms, surprised.

He looked down at me gently, his eyes soft with love and sorrow.

Then he smiled softly, a sad, knowing smile.

“You remembered. You saw it all.”

One hand patted my back gently, calming me, the other wiped my streaming tears with a soft tissue.

“It’s okay. Don’t cry for me. It’s over. All of it.”

“I have you. You’re here. That’s all that matters.’

“You were so good to me. So kind. So loving.”

“Life has been more than kind to me. I’m the luckiest man alive.”

His expression was gentle, peaceful, full of quiet gratitude.

A soft, real smile in his eyes, no pain left.

“Back then, when I was in that dark alley, starving and hurt… I thought if there was a god, they

should save me. Please.”

“And then you came. Just like you said you would.”

Confused, broken memories clicked into place suddenly, forming a perfect, whole story.

I stared at him, my eyes wide, disbelieving.

“So that’s why you worked so hard to build your business? Why you never gave up? For me?”

I looked at him, my eyes full of hope, love, and awe.

Elias smiled wider when he saw I’d stopped crying, his eyes crinkling with joy.

“Yes. All for you.”

“You said we met after I succeeded, after I built a life worth giving you.”

“I wanted to meet you so badly. I couldn’t afford to slow down, couldn’t afford to fail.”

No wonder every story about Elias Blackwood was about a man who worked without stopping- trying, failing, learning, moving forward, relentless.

People said he was born calm. Born ambitious. A machine.

It wasn’t true. None of it.

He was just waiting for a future. Waiting for me.

I touched his face gently, my fingers trembling, pained and loving.

“I never knew you had a past like that. Never. I’m so sorry.”

“If it were me, I would have hated the whole world. Given up.”

Elias looked deeply at me and sighed softly, full of love.

“How could I hate the world after being loved by you? After you saved me?”

“I’m just thankful. So thankful for every single day.”

I grew shy and buried my face in his warm chest, hiding my red eyes.

He laughed softly and messed up my hair gently, fondly.

“Aren’t you going to sleep? We have to rest.”

“Tomorrow’s our wedding day. The biggest day of our lives.”

“I don’t want you to be late, or tired, or with puffy eyes.”

I jumped away from him at once, alert and excited.

“I’m going to sleep! Right now!”

“Tomorrow’s my wedding day! My day!”

“Check if my eyes are puffy from crying! Hurry!”

Elias studied me carefully, his eyes full of love and amusement.

“No. Not at all. You’re beautiful. Always.”

I huffed and turned to go to bed, then stopped suddenly, remembering something important.

I turned back and kissed Elias hard, deeply, passionately, pouring all my love into him.

A moment later.

I lay across his lap, crying again, half-laughing, half-complaining.

He comforted me patiently, gently, endlessly.

Between sobs, I complained, my voice muffled, “You used to be so innocent. So shy. So quiet.”

“What happened to you? How did you become like this?”

Elias wasn’t embarrassed at all. Not even a little.

He even said proudly, confidently, “My wife taught me well. I learned from the best.”

“I never forgot a single thing you taught me. Not one.”

“Naturally, I got better at it. Improved with time.”

Sniffle.

I shouldn’t have teased him back then. Shouldn’t have started it.

But it was so unfair. So cruel.

I peeked at him secretly, already planning my revenge.

He smiled gently, knowingly, amused.

“Planning on staying up all night to get me back?”

“No!”

I scrambled into bed immediately and pulled the covers up to my chin, hiding.

Hmph.

We had all the time in the world. All of it.

I’d get him back. Someday soon.
