I Hired Elite Tycoons as My Parents for Five Cents Chapter 06

They were done humoring these people.

Vincenzo bent down, scooped me up in his arms, and carried me toward the door.

Richard’s expression darkened. He threw his hand up.

“Stop them! She is donating that kidney today. I don’t care what it takes!”

The bodyguards at the door moved at once, closing in around us.

They didn’t stand a chance. Stella and Vincenzo had been fighting since before these men could walk.

Even carrying me, Vincenzo moved like I weighed nothing. The two of them worked in perfect sync, and within seconds every bodyguard was on the floor, groaning, faces bloodied.

The Strattons watched it happen. The confidence drained out of their faces.

When force failed, Evelyn changed tactics. Her eyes flooded with tears, and she collapsed to the ground,

sobbing loud enough for everyone to hear.

“Somebody help! I’m dying. I need a kidney transplant, and my own daughter won’t save me! It’s those two. They turned her against me! They’re the reason she’s refusing to help her own mother!”

“She already signed the consent forms! She was on the operating table! And these people broke in, attacked the staff, and now they’re trying to kidnap her!”

Brooke’s eyes went red right on cue. She turned to the gathering crowd, voice trembling.

“I’m only the adopted daughter. I couldn’t donate even if I wanted to. She’s a perfect match and she knows it. But she hates me so much she’d rather let our mother die…”

The bystanders didn’t know the whole story. All they saw were two rough-looking punks and a sobbing

mother. The whispers started immediately.

Every look aimed our way was pure judgment.

“She won’t even save her own mother? That’s cold.”

“She’s just a kid, running around with people like that. No wonder she turned out this way.”

“Even the adopted one cares more than she does. That tells you everything.”

“After everything they did to raise her, and this is what they get. Doesn’t give a damn about her own flesh and

blood. Heartless.”

The voices pressed in from every side. Vincenzo’s jaw tightened. He shifted me in his arms and pressed one

hand gently over my ear.

‘Shut up

Stella grabbed a fistful of Evelyn’s hair, pressed the blade to her roots, and sliced through a huge chunk of it

Three seconds later, hair was scattered all over the floor.

She flicked a strand off her blade, tapped the flat of it against Evelyn’s bare scalp, and turned to the crowd

“Anyone else have something to say? One more word out of any of you, and I won’t stop at hair.”

The hallway went dead silent.

The Strattons clamped their mouths shut, terrified the blade might swing their way next.

Then a voice cut through from the back of the crowd, sharp and furious.

“What the hell is going on here? Who’s tearing up my hospital?”

Heads turned.

A middle-aged man wearing a director’s badge shouldered through the crowd, flanked by security guards

gripping batons. His face was stormy.

Richard’s eyes lit up. He straightened like a man who’d just found his lifeline.

He rushed over, already pointing at Stella and Vincenzo before he’d even reached the man.

“Arthur, it’s them! These two broke into the operating room, assaulted the doctors and my security, and they’re trying to stop my daughter’s kidney donation!”

“They pulled a knife on my wife! Get them out of here, now!”

Arthur Mitchell’s face twisted. He wheeled on Vincenzo, already opening his mouth to tear into him.

Then he actually looked at him. And the blood left his face.

The anger vanished. His face went chalk-white, and his knees buckled so hard he nearly went down.

The heavy boots. The studded leather. That custom chopper still idling in the middle of the operating room.

This was the man every powerful family in Oakhaven crossed the street to avoid.

A hospital director meant nothing. Ten Stratton families stacked together wouldn’t have been enough for this.

man to bother with.

His voice cracked when he finally spoke. He shuffled forward, practically bowing with every step.

“Mr. Rossi. Mr. Rossi, sir! What… what brings you here?”
