I Can’t Keep You, so I’ll Let Go Chapter 06
A small group of four waited outside the door. The woman leading them held a microphone, followed closely by a crew member balancing a camera on his shoulder.
Nicole blinked in surprise. “Can I help you?”
The woman flashed a professional smile. “Hello, we’re from the city news network. We’re here to do an interview with Ollie Hunt. Is he home right now?”
The expression on Nicole’s face instantly froze.
Everyone else in the living room automatically looked over.
Frankie frowned and asked, “An interview with Ollie? What for?”
The reporter paused, clearly not expecting this kind of reaction from them.
“You don’t know yet? Ollie is the top scorer in the entire state this year. He got 1570. We contacted his school, but they said that he has already checked out, which is why we came directly to his home.”
The moment the words left her mouth, the living room fell completely silent.

when Paige got into Crawford University, she had barely scraped by the cutoff line to get in.
But Ollie? He scored a phenomenal 1570-the absolute best in the entire state!
Paige’s expression was the ugliest of all because she had never wanted to admit that Ollie was superior
to her.

dering out there, enduring so much hardship, without even a
une moment he returned, he easily outshone her.
She had to spend countless hours wrestling with a single question, Ollie could figure it out at a
glance. The academic awards she poured all her effort into winning came to him effortlessly.
It humiliated her, and it fueled her resentment.
That was why she had started to favor Reynold over time.
He needed her guidance and protection. Only in front of Reynold could she forever remain the brilliant
older sister.
Julia remained silent as well, her fingers tightening around her phone.
She had always known that Ollie was exceptional. But it was precisely because she knew that she dreaded facing him even more.
If he hadn’t pushed her out of the way all those years ago, he wouldn’t have been snatched by the trafficker in the chaos.
That crushing guilt had weighed on her heart for too long, eventually twisting into a different kind of
resentment.
The more outstanding Ollie proved to be, the more clearly she realized what a brilliant person she had held back all these years.
But she didn’t dare admit it. She didn’t want to admit just how much she owed him, so she chose to stand by Reynold’s side instead.
The reporter was still waiting for an answer. “Is it convenient for Ollie to take an interview? We also heard that he didn’t apply to Crawford University or Beaumont University. That choice surprised many people. Which university did he end up picking?”
Nicole finally snapped out of her daze. Her voice sounded incredibly dry as she replied, “H-He applied to a school in Selvarin.”
The reporter blinked in confusion. “Selvarin?”
She looked down at her notes, hesitating. “But according to the information we got from the school, it seems that he never confirmed a spot at any university in Selvarin. His homeroom teacher said the information couldn’t be disclosed out of respect for Ollie’s personal wishes.”
Frankie’s expression changed instantly. “What do you mean? He didn’t go to Selvarin?”
The reporter was startled by his sudden outburst. “W-We aren’t entirely sure about the details. That’s why we wanted to check with you.”
Nicole frantically dialed Ollie’s number again.
The only reply was the same mechanical female recording. “The number you have dialed is currently
unavailable.”
Suddenly, the celebration dinner menu, the hotel photos, and Reynold’s acceptance letter displayed in the living room all felt like a cruel mockery.
Looking at their tight expressions, the reporter finally sensed that something was seriously wrong. She awkwardly pulled back the microphone. “Should we… perhaps get in touch later?”
The moment the front door clicked shut, the phone in Nicole’s hand slipped out of her grip and hit the
floor.
As she stared blankly at the silent chat interface, she murmured, “Ollie… where did you go?”
