I Broke Up With Him After The Concert Kiss Chapter 04

I got home, pulled out my suitcase, and started packing.

I only grabbed a few everyday outfits and left everything else untouched.

My phone began ringing nonstop.

It was an unknown number.

The second I answered, a lewd breath came through the line.

“Hey, schoolgirl, how much for the night?”

I hung up abruptly.

Right after, dozens of friend requests popped up on WeChat.

All filled with vulgar messages.

Then a string of explicit photos landed in my texts.

When I opened them, every single one had my face pasted on it.

My hands and feet turned cold as I stared at them.

The front door swung open, and Silas Hale walked in carrying a fancy paper bag.

He set it on the table—inside was cake from the bakery I usually liked.

Peanut Butter Cupcake.

I was severely allergic to peanuts, and he’d completely forgotten.

He glanced at the half-open suitcase on the floor and frowned.

“Why pack so much?”

“Your college’s right next door. You can come back anytime.”

I pulled my hand away and shoved my phone screen in his face.

“What is this?”

Silas glanced at it, then sat casually on the couch.

“Oh, that.”

“I AI-generated a few fake nudes of you and posted them online with a ‘schoolgirl’ caption.”

He said it like it was nothing, casually ruining my reputation.

“Word got out about Lila’s abortion.”

“The whole school’s talking about her now.”

“I had to use your photos to shift the attention—protect her from the gossip.”

He paused, his tone condescending, like he was doing me a favor.

“I’ll clear your name later.”

“Just make a video first, saying you’re the one who had the abortion.”

I broke down.

I grabbed the paper bag off the table and slammed it on the floor.

The cake splattered everywhere.

“Silas Hale, are you insane?”

“I’m allergic to peanuts! How could you forget that?”

Silas’s face darkened at the mess.

“Elowen, stop pretending.”

“You’re just stalling, trying to make me beg you, aren’t you?”

He strode over, grabbed my jaw hard.

He picked up the dusty Peanut Butter Cupcake off the floor and forced it into my mouth.

“Eat it.”

“Let’s see how allergic you really are.”

Cake crumbs mixed with peanut bits jammed down my throat.

I fought with everything I had, but I couldn’t break his grip.

A suffocating feeling rushed over me, my throat swelling shut.

I struggled to breathe, red rashes breaking out all over my body.

Just then, Silas’s phone rang.

It was the hospital.

“Mr. Hale, Lila Mercer’s condition is critical!”

Silas let go instantly, panic flashing across his face.

He turned and ran out, not even bothering to close the door.

I collapsed on the floor, my vision blurring.

My throat burned like fire.

With the last of my strength, I crawled to the drawer and grabbed my allergy medication.

Two days later, move-in day for classes.

Silas walked Lila back to the familiar apartment building, fresh out of the hospital.

“Silas, Elowen’s probably still mad at us.”

Lila twisted the hem of her shirt, looking guilty.

Silas scoffed coldly.

“She’s stuck at community college now. Where else would she go without us?”

“She’ll apologize sooner or later, and this will all blow over.”

They reached the door and raised a hand to knock.

An elderly neighbor came out carrying a grocery basket.

“Don’t bother knocking. No one’s home.”

She eyed them oddly.

“You didn’t hear?”

“That girl left two days ago with her aunt overseas. Said she’s never coming back.”
