I Broke The Game Rules To Kill The Sister Who Broke Our Bond Chapter 09

I Broke The Game Rules To Kill The Sister Who Broke Our Bond Chapter 09

Gideon dragged himself toward the throne on his shattered knees, eyes wild with terror.

“Melanie! Save me. It’s me! It’s Gideon! Your Gideon!”

He was sobbing, an ugly, desperate sound, snot and tears dripping onto the bronze.

“Everything they did to you, that wasn’t me! They used me. I swear!”

“Melanie, please. Believe me. I’m still your Gideon.”

I clicked my tongue and glanced up at Melanie on her throne, the knife still turning in my hand.

“This is the man you gave up half your life for, Melanie. Look at him, sobbing like his life depends on it. You’re not going soft on him again, are you?”

Melanie let out a sharp, quiet scoff. It held more contempt than a scream.

It bounced off the walls of the empty hall, sharp enough to cut skin.

Gideon’s sobbing choked off mid-breath. Every instinct in his body knew he was about to die.

“Melanie…”

He got one more syllable out. Then Melanie’s hand sliced through the air.

The bronze floor cracked open, fractures spiderwebbing out in every direction.

Shadow thorns erupted from the ground, massive, black, bristling with barbs, ripping upward like something alive and hungry.

“No!!!”

Four wet impacts landed, one after another.

The thorns drove through both shoulders and both shattered knees. Barbs sank into bone and locked. Blood sprayed.

The force ripped him off the ground and hurled him upward.

The thorns pinned him to the wall high above the hall, arms spread, legs dangling, skewered like an insect on

a pin.

Blood ran down the wall beneath him in thick rivers, pooling on the floor.

He couldn’t scream. His throat could only manage thin, twitching sounds, the kind of noise a body makes

when the mind has already shut down.

Melanie rose from the throne. The blood-red hem of her dress dragged through the blood on the floor,

drawing a long scarlet line behind her.
