He Kept Me Hidden Then Pushed Me To Date Others Chapter 08

All through the ceremony, Ethan kept staring at me.

Claire in her wedding dress was beautiful.

She was supposed to be his.

He’d thrown her away.

He couldn’t watch anymore. He stumbled out of the chapel.

Back in his car, he opened his phone and scrolled through our old messages. All the cute stuff I used

to send him-videos of stray cats, photos of pretty food, clouds shaped like hearts.

He wept openly.

She used to care so much. Why did she suddenly stop? Why wouldn’t she give him another chance?

Then he scrolled further and saw his replies-or lack of them. He’d almost never responded.

When she’d sent that long message about her parents pushing for marriage, he’d answered: [Didn’t we agree not to go public?]

Even though she’d explained it was just to ease her parents’ minds, he’d gone cold after that. Stopped replying altogether.

Ethan felt like ice water had been dumped over his head.

He checked his group chats. Maybe he’d just been too busy to reply. But his friends must have.

Surely someone responded.

Then he found the voice messages. The ones where his friends called her a mistress. The one that

said she’d “taken care of his needs” for five years.

“Ethan’s not a monk. If someone throws themselves at him, why say no?”

“It’s Claire’s fault anyway. The minute she found out Gemma left, she jumped into his bed.”

“Everyone knows Ethan and Gemma are meant to be. She’s the only one pathetic enough to keep shoving herself in.”

He’d never read those chats until now. He wanted to defend her, but Claire wasn’t even in that

group.

He found another group. The one where they’d called her a simp. The one where they’d said his

proposal was for Gemma.

Then they’d kicked her out.

Ethan stared at the screen, gutted. He didn’t remember posting that photo. Then it hit him- Gemma had borrowed his phone.

She’d not only posted that, she’d also sent the confession video to the group while he wasn’t looking.

He drove straight back to Gemma. When he confronted her, she admitted it without flinching.

“Yeah, I hate Claire.”
