He Chased His First Love Through the Snow-and Lost Me Chapter 04

Garett’s focus instantly snapped back to her. Natasha slid effortlessly into his arms, exposing the sharp, violent crimson imprint of my palm against her pale skin.

The sight clearly broke Garett’s heart. He reached out, his thumb gently brushing away her tears with a tenderness that made my chest ache. He used to do that for me when we were kids and I fell on the pavement. I couldn’t even remember the last time he had looked at me without disgust.

When he turned back to face me, the tenderness evaporated into pure ice. Apologize to your sister,

Vivian.”

I stood tall, keeping my spine perfectly straight.

Never.”

Garett seemed surprised by my sudden defiance. Throughout my youth, my love for him had made me timid, constantly walking on eggshells just to earn a crumb of his approval. But no matter what I did, I was always the villain compared to Natasha.

He carried Natasha back to the sofa, his voice dropping into a dangerous register. Vivian, don’t

test my patience.”

Before I could reach the front door, his personal security guards blocked my path, forcefully

dragging me back to face them. Garett sat back, crossing his legs as he looked down at me with immense, crushing pressure.

Apologize to Natasha.”

Natasha shot me a smug, triumphant smirk

before playing the saint. It’s fine, Garett. I’m sure my sister didn’t mean it.”

Garett looked at her with deep pity. You’re too soft, Natasha. You treat her like a sister, but she views you as an enemy. Then he turned his freezing eyes back to me. Anyone who puts a hand on Natasha pays double.”

A bitter memory flashed through my mind. In elementary school, some older bullies had cornered me in an alley to steal my lunch money. Garett had charged in like a madman, nearly beating the leader to death to shield me. The boy who once bled for me was now sharpening his blade for someone else.

My silent defiance clearly pushed him over the edge. Garett signaled his guards, and they forcefully shoved me down until I was kneeling on the hard floor before them. Seeing me lowered, the

tension in his jaw relaxed slightly.

A bodyguard stepped forward, raising his palm to strike me, but Natasha cut him off. Garett, she’s

still my sister. Men don’t know their own strength; I don’t want her face ruined.”

If we want her to actually learn her lesson, let me

handle it.”

Garett didn’t object. Natasha walked over and

delivered two vicious slaps across my face, her

long, manicured acrylic nails slicing open a thin line across my cheek, drawing immediate blood.

She instantly turned to Garett with mock horror. Oh no, GarettI accidentally cut her. What should

I do?”

Garett let out a cold snort. She earned it. You’re

too kind, Natashashe bleeds you dry, and you’re still worrying about her comfort.”

The guards released me, and I collapsed onto the floor in a heap. Garett looked down at my disheveled form. Vivian, this is just a fraction of what you owe your sister. Apologize.”

What I owed her? She was the one who dragged my dying boy’s name through the mud! And yet Garett blindly took her side without a single

question.

A dark, mocking laugh bubbled up from my throat.

In your dreams.”

I utterly loathe you, Garett.
