He Blocked My Ambulance for Her Baby, So I Gave Him a Stillbirth to Remember Chapter 04
Vivian walked in with her newborn in her arms, supported by someone at her side.
I never expected my mother, whom I had not seen in years, to come with her too.
Vivian’s eyes were full of triumph when she looked at me.
“Sienna, I know you’ve been through a lot, so I brought your nephew over especially for you to see.”
“Eight pounds, six ounces. Mother and son are both safe. When the baby was born, Grayson was so emotional that he cried.”
I forced down my rage and looked at her.
“He is not my nephew. Take your bastard and get out.”
Vivian pulled her lips into a cold smile and slapped me hard across the face.
“What right do you have to tell me to get out?”
“While you were screaming all night, Grayson was in the delivery room next door with me. He didn’t care about you at all. All he cared about was comforting me.”
“So what if you’re Mrs. Whitmore? The woman who isn’t loved is the real mistress. The thing in your belly is the bastard.”
The corner of my eye split open, and blood slid down with my tears.
But Vivian had no intention of letting me go.
She bent close to me, making no attempt to hide the malice in her eyes.
“You really are hard to kill. After a whole night of suffering, you’re still alive. Why don’t I help you and send you and that bastard in your belly straight to the grave?”
She grabbed the metal thermos from the floor and swung it hard at my stomach.
I pushed her away with everything I had and stumbled toward the door.
The moment I ran out of the hospital room, I crashed into an embrace I knew all too well.
When I saw the concern on Grayson’s face, I clutched his sleeve tightly, my voice trembling.
“Grayson, help me. Vivian has lost her mind. She’s trying to kill our baby!”
Grayson’s expression changed. Just as he was about to speak, a baby’s shrill cry came from inside the room.
He shoved me away, kicked the door open, and rushed inside.
The next second, someone grabbed me by the hair and dragged me back into the room.
The scene before me made me tremble uncontrollably.
Vivian was kneeling in the middle of the hospital room, holding a baby covered in blood.
“Grayson, I only brought the baby to see Sienna because I wanted to cheer her up and help her feel hopeful about a smooth delivery.”
“But she called him a bastard and tried to throw our baby onto the floor and kill him!”
The look Grayson gave me was cold to the bone.
“Sienna Hart, Vivian came to see you right after giving birth, and you were vicious enough to attack a baby. Have you lost your mind?”
“I was still worried about you and wanted to arrange for you to go into the delivery room immediately. Now it seems there’s no need.”
“Stay in this room and think about what you’ve done. I’ll let you out once Vivian calms down.”
My abdomen felt as if it were being torn apart, and the pain made my whole body shake.
I dug my nails into my palm until the skin broke and barely kept myself from passing out.
“I didn’t do it. She framed me. She was the one who tried to kill my baby!”
Grayson was furious. He kicked me to the floor.
“You’re still making excuses at a time like this?”
“Would Vivian hurt her own child just to frame you?”
He refused to believe me. His eyes were full of cruelty.
I could not help looking up at my mother, pleading for help.
“Mom, you were in the room the whole time. You saw everything, didn’t you?”
“I didn’t throw the baby. It was Vivian. She—”
Before I could finish, she cut me off coldly.
“Sienna, I taught you when you were little that you have to admit it when you do something wrong.”
“Vivian came here out of kindness to see you. How could you be so cruel as to hurt a child?”
My heart sank.
My mother had always favored Vivian, but I never imagined she could be this cruel to me.
Before I could speak, a hot gush surged between my legs.
The bleeding that had finally stopped erupted again, and soon the floor was stained red.
The coldness in Grayson’s eyes instantly turned to panic.
Instinctively, he lunged toward the nurse call button, but Vivian reached out and stopped him.
“Grayson, my mom has some medical training. Why don’t you let her check Sienna and see if she’s really about to give birth?”
Before I could refuse, my mother had already forced her cold hand inside me.
After roughly probing inside me, my mother lowered her eyes and looked at me with indifference.
“Sienna, I know you hate Vivian, but you can’t deliberately lie just to compete for attention.”
“You’re not even dilated yet. Even if you wanted to give birth right now, you couldn’t.”
I lifted my eyes in disbelief and questioned her in a voice barely stronger than a breath.
“Why? Why are you doing this to me?”
“I’m your daughter too. The baby in my belly is your own grandchild too!”
She turned her head away guiltily, unable to look at me.
With a trembling hand, I reached out and grabbed the hem of Grayson’s shirt.
“I really can’t hold on anymore. Please, call a doctor for me.”
A trace of pity flashed through his eyes. Just as he was about to speak, Vivian screamed behind him.
“Grayson, why isn’t the baby moving? Is something wrong with him?”
The hand that had been reaching toward me changed direction in an instant. Grayson picked up Vivian and rushed out of the room without looking back.
I used every last bit of strength to crawl toward the door.
Behind me, I dragged a long trail of blood across the floor.
Darkness swarmed before my eyes.
The last thing I saw before losing consciousness was Grayson’s anxious figure as he hurried away.
I lowered my eyes, my smile stained with blood.
Grayson, since you say I owe Vivian, then I’ll repay her with both my life and my baby’s life.
…
Grayson ran all the way to the emergency room with the baby in his arms.
Only after he learned that the baby had suffered nothing more than a superficial injury did he finally let out a breath of relief.
When he remembered the despair in my eyes before he left, panic surged uncontrollably in his chest.
Grayson forced out a smile and pushed Vivian away.
“Since the baby is fine, I should go stay with Sienna Hart. After all, the baby she’s carrying is mine too.”
Ignoring Vivian’s furious crying, he ran back toward my hospital room with panic in his eyes.
But the moment he pushed the door open, Grayson’s eyes went bloodshot with horror.
The sight before him made his legs go weak, and he almost could not stand.
I lay quietly in a pool of blood, already gone.
And there, between my legs, were a pair of pale, bloodstained little hands.
