From Rejected Omega To The Supreme Luna Chapter 13
Ember POV:Â
Six Months LaterÂ
The heat in Central Africa was a physical weight. Red dust and diesel.Â
“Dr. Tucker! Incoming!”Â
I wiped sweat from my brow.Â
“Rebel ambush,” said Dr. Gael King.Â
Gael King. Supreme Alpha. Volunteering here. Every time he stood near me, my wolf lifted her head.Â
“Ember,” Gael said, voice rumbling. “Take the left flank.”Â
I rushed to the truck.Â
“Help him! VIP!” a soldier shouted.Â
They dragged a man out. Gray dust. Torn suit. Shrapnel in his thigh.Â
I cut his shirt.Â
| froze.Â
Pine. Rain. Regret.Â
Julian.Â
My heart hammered. What was he doing here?Â
“Doctor?” the soldier urged.Â
I took a breath. I was a doctor first.Â
“Stretcher,” I ordered. “Silver–extraction kit.Â
Move!”Â
We wheeled him in. I worked on autopilot. Removed metal. Stitched flesh.Â
Gael entered. He washed his hands, eyeingÂ
Julian.Â
“So,” Gael said. “That’s him.”Â
“That’s him.”Â
“He’s been tracking you. Bribed warlords to find this camp.”Â
I looked at Julian. Thinner. Dark circles.Â
“He shouldn’t have come.”Â
“Mate,” Julian mumbled in sleep, reaching out.Â

“Ember…”Â
I stepped back.Â
Gael placed a hand on my shoulder. Warm. Electric. Like sun.Â
“Do you want me to remove him?”Â
“He’s a patient,” I said. “Once stable, he leaves.”Â
I walked out into the blinding sun. My hands shook with rage.Â
He didn’t get to come here. He didn’t get to call me Mate. Not anymore.
