Eight Years As His Secret Lover, I Married The Top Mafia Don Next Saturday Chapter 03

Eight Years As His Secret Lover, I Married The Top Mafia Don Next Saturday Chapter 03

Slytherin stepped into the room. His brows drew together when he saw my open suitcase.

“I’ve told you countless times there’s nothing going on between me and Bella. Can you let go of this anger?”

He walked forward and reached for my hand.

“I’m going to cancel that marriage application with her this afternoon. Once we lock down the Gambino partnership, we’ll get married. Alright?”

I was about to tell him we were done for good.

He cut me off before I could speak and glanced around the room quickly.

“By the way, where did you put the keys to the One57 apartment?”

“They’re in the bottom drawer of the nightstand.” I hesitated for a second, then asked. “Are you selling it to cover the family’s financial losses?”

He looked surprised for a moment before letting out a casual laugh.

“No need to sell it. Bella’s lease ran out, so I’m letting her move in there temporarily.”

A heavy, sharp pain settled deep in my chest.

The One57 apartment was one of the most luxurious high-rises in Manhattan.

He’d bought it for me as a birthday gift the year before.

Now he was handing it over to another woman without a second glance.

He failed to notice how pale my face had turned and kept talking.

“Also, hand the Gambino family partnership over to Bella to manage. This deal will help her earn a permanent position here, and show the family elders what she’s capable of.”

His phone rang before I could respond.

He glanced at the caller ID and answered immediately, his tone softer than I’d ever heard it.

“Hold on, I’ll send you the address. Tell the moving crew to head straight over…”

He talked on the phone as he walked toward the door, not sparing me a single look.

The door clicked shut behind him.

I stood alone in the empty bedroom and laughed bitterly to myself.

I’d wasted eight years of my life on a man who valued a brand-new Associate more than me.

I grabbed my suitcase and left the mansion, heading straight back to the Colombo family estate.

My mother had been overjoyed ever since I agreed to the arranged marriage with the Gambino family. She’d already sent staff to carry my luggage the moment I arrived.

She rambled on endlessly as I stepped into the living room.

“Lucius comes from one of the oldest and most respected families. He’s solid and reliable. Your father and I can finally rest easy now that you’re marrying him.”

The Colombo and Gambino families were two of Manhattan’s five major underworld clans, and they’d maintained a close alliance for generations. Lucius and I had grown up side by side since childhood.

He’d always held feelings for me, I knew that well.

If I hadn’t met Slytherin at that party all those years ago, I would have married Lucius long ago.

I’d even swallowed my pride and begged Lucius to offer the life-saving partnership to the struggling Moretti family.

He’d stayed quiet for a long time before finally saying yes.

Looking back now, I realized just how foolish I’d been.

After dinner, I retreated to the study to sort through documents and finish my handover work for the Moretti family. My phone vibrated repeatedly.

It was Slytherin sending messages. I deleted every single one without reading a word.

I finished working around ten o’clock, washed up, and climbed into bed. I opened a social media app out of habit.

The very first post was from Bella, uploaded half an hour earlier.

The photo was taken inside the lavish living room of the One57 apartment. Slytherin laughed and joked with several family men, while empty liquor bottles covered the table.

Her caption read: He called me kid in front of all his guys. Does he think I’m too naive and innocent?

The comments below were full of flattery and praise.

I stared at the screen for two seconds, then closed the app calmly.

I felt no sadness, no anger left inside me.

All my lingering affection had died the moment he let others label me a homewrecker and chose to stay silent.

A new message popped up on my screen from Lucius.

[Are you free tomorrow? The bridal shop finished altering your custom wedding gown. They want you to come try it on.]

I typed back a quick reply. [Sure.]

Lucius arrived to pick me up bright and early the next morning. My mother walked me to the car, pressing two boxes of his favorite pastries into my hands.

I shifted awkwardly in the passenger seat and scratched the back of my neck as I spoke to him.

“I need to ask a favor about that partnership deal. Keep it open for me. I’m taking the director role at the Colombo group, and this contract will help me solidify my position.”

He turned his head to look at me and smiled gently. “Or you could just join the Gambino family officially by my side.”

I smiled back at him. “Marrying you is more than enough for me.”

We arrived at the bridal shop, and a sales associate greeted us warmly, holding a fitted mermaid-style wedding gown.

“Don Gambino personally requested three rounds of alterations to get the perfect fit for you. You’ll look absolutely stunning in this.”

I changed into the gown and stood in front of the full-length mirror. I was stunned by my own reflection.
