CEO Wife Schedules Our Intimacy by the Minute Chapter 06

Third-Person POV

Cheryl stayed there quietly for a long time, as if she had become a statue. Finally, her ears twitched. She heard footsteps slowly approaching.

Her breathing softened, but her heart started pounding. Immediately, she turned around. “You’re back! I’ve been looking for…”

The moment she saw who it was, the unfinished words rolled back into her throat. A deep sense of disappointment flashed across her eyes.

“You? What are you doing here?”

Henry smiled. He walked over quickly and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. “Because I missed you, Ms. Sharpley. Didn’t you say I could drop by whenever I wanted?”

Cheryl’s body tensed. She quietly pulled herself away without making a scene or so much as a glance at him. “You should be at work right now.”

Henry pouted. He stayed close to her, clearly unhappy. “You said I could take breaks whenever I wanted. I don’t want to work all day and all night.”

As he spoke, his gaze fell on Cheryl again. He deliberately brushed his foot against her ankle. “How do I look? Pretty snatched, right?”

When Cheryl looked up, her eyes widened before she reached out and grabbed Henry. “Who told you to wear this? You know I bought this for Joseph!”

Frowning, he cried out, “Ms. Sharpley, you’re hurting me… I was just trying it on for Joseph…”

He struggled free and straightened his clothes.

She took a few steps back. Looking at his face, she felt nothing but irritation.

Henry seemed completely unaware. When he noticed the wedding portrait nearby, his eyes lit up. He walked over excitedly and picked it up, nodding with satisfaction.

“We looked so good together. This should be hung on the wall. I’ll decorate it soon, and it’ll look even better. In the future, we can also-‘

His seemingly piercing words made Cheryl finally snap, her chest heaving. “Enough! This place belongs to Joseph and me. You have no right to come in here and decide things.”

Henry trembled slightly, his face tinted with disbelief. He glanced around the space, then pointed at the photo with a smile. “But Ms. Sharpley, look. Don’t we look perfect together? Even the people at the studio complimented us.”

She looked over. Her entire body jolted. Her memories brought her back to Joseph.

She remembered the desperate scream in his voice that day, the way he had nearly broken down. She remembered him trapped beneath the fallen bookshelf and the helpless look in his eyes when he looked at her.

Her heart felt as if it was being peeled apart layer by layer. Everything was covered in blood.

Cheryl looked at Henry and spoke in a hoarse voice. “My husband will only ever be Joseph.”

He paused, then glanced around the empty place. “But he’s gone. Weren’t you always complaining how he was too dull, boring, and inexperienced to please you? I’m here-I’m young and exciting. I can bring you thrill.”

At those words, his face flushed slightly as he leaned closer to her. “Ms. Sharpley, would you consider marrying me?”

Cheryl reacted as if he were boiling water that had scalded her. She instantly shoved him away. “You’re delusional: What makes you think you ever had a chance? My husband has always been Joseph, and he always will be.”

Embarrassed, Henry took a few trembling steps backward.

Without hesitation, she grabbed him and threw him out, along with all the photos of them together. She leaned against the door, then slowly sank onto the floor.

From that day on, Cheryl began searching for Joseph like a madwoman. No matter how hard she tried, there was never any news.

In just a few short months, she lost a noticeable amount of weight.

A long time later, she suddenly received a screenshot from a friend. It was Joseph’s location.

“He might be there. Go take a look?”

That moment felt like she had finally found her lifeline. Without a second thought, she rushed toward the location.
