After the SSS Beast Slave Bites the Hand That Saved Him, I Choose to Watch Him Bleed Chapter 04

After the SSS Beast Slave Bites the Hand That Saved Him, I Choose to Watch Him Bleed Chapter 04

Audrey crushed the herbs. The smell spread through the room.

Gideon was a canine. His nose was sharp.

After smelling the medicine I’d made for him so many times, he immediately knew something was off about Audrey’s mix.

“Is that… for a leg injury?” he asked carefully.

Audrey was confident. “It’s my special recipe. Don’t worry.”

It didn’t take long for Gideon to realize something was wrong.

The wound burned like fire. The hair on his tail stood straight up.

His face twisted in pain. He couldn’t sit still.

But he wasn’t too worried.

Because he believed that I would step in to help him, no matter what. I always did.

In the past life, Gideon turned me down over and over, but I kept throwing myself at him anyway, begging him to take all my best herbs.

Those herbs didn’t just heal his leg fast. They made his face and his fur better too.

By the time his injuries healed, his rank shot up overnight. He became a rare SSS-level bonded servant.

When he stood outside the clinic, people would stop and stare. Rich families even offered a fortune to buy him.

Just thinking about his shiny, glossy fur made Gideon’s tail swish.

He glanced at the back I was turning toward him and lifted his lips in a smirk.

The prescription Gideon was using right now had three wrong ingredients, one extra that did nothing, and two that fought each other.

If he kept going like this, that leg was as good as gone.

The feeling in it would fade day by day until it was completely useless.

But that wasn’t my problem.

I pretended I didn’t see or hear a thing. I turned around and went to get Theron’s herbs ready.

Theron’s medicine was a pain to put together.

It was dark by the time I came back with the finished brew.

Audrey had already gone to her room.

By now, Gideon was so pale it hurt to look at him. He was curled up on the cot, not moving.

When he heard me, he lifted his head.

He smelled the medicine, and his eyes lit up.

Just like he thought.

There was no way I could let him go that easily. So I’d waited until Audrey was gone and made this batch for him.

Thinking about what that medicine could do for him, Gideon reached for me without wasting a second.

“Give it here. And check my leg while you’re at it. That little dummy Audrey messed something up. My wound’s been killing me.”

His voice was raspy, carrying that entitled tone.

The way he said it, the way he held himself—like I owed him.

I didn’t hand it over. Gideon’s brow pinched, but then it relaxed again.

“You’re still mad about what happened today?”

“Look, you shouldn’t have tried to scare Audrey like that. I wouldn’t have said all that if you hadn’t.”

“Scarlett, as long as you cut the crap, I’ll be good to you. Promise.”

Gideon crooked his finger. “Okay. Give me the medicine.”

“Audrey’s asleep by now. After I drink this, I’ll make you feel better.”

“All right? I know you worry about me. It eats you up inside seeing me like this, doesn’t it?”

“If this leg gets permanently messed up, you’re the one who’ll be upset.”

Looking at him right now, I realized how pathetic I’d been.

The person I’d gone out of my way to save in my past life was this disgusting thing.

So disgusting I couldn’t stand to look at him.
