After My Husband Cheated, I Fell for My Younger Trainer Chapter 06

After My Husband Cheated, I Fell for My Younger Trainer Chapter 06

Ethan started digging into my life.

He was not subtle about it.

First, he picked up my phone while I was in the shower, only to find that I had changed the passcode.

When I came out, he was sitting on the edge of the bed with my phone in his hand.

He showed no embarrassment at being caught.

“What’s the passcode?”

I dried my hair with a towel and looked at him.

“Why should I tell you?”

He frowned.

“We’re married.”

I laughed.

“Where was that concern for our marriage when you started taking your phone into the shower?”

That shut him up for a long moment.

The next day, he asked, “Where are you going today?”

“To class.”

“What class?”

I continued putting on my shoes.

“Don’t you already know?”

He stared at me.

“Is that instructor still teaching you?”

“If he doesn’t teach me, are you going to?”

Ethan’s expression darkened.

“Erin, do you have to be so nasty every time you speak now?”

I looked up at him

Tm not being nasty. Talking to you just puts me in a bad mood.”

He stood by the door as though he were only now realizing that I no longer explained my schedule to him.

In the past, I used to tell him everywhere I went, everyone I met, and what time I would be home.

He rarely replied.

Now that I had stopped telling him, he was the one who could not get used to it.

That afternoon, I had just arrived at the aquatic center when the receptionist leaned closer and whispered,

“Erin, a man came by earlier asking about Kyle.”

I raised an eyebrow

“What did he look like?”

“A little over six feet tall. He was wearing a suit and drove a black luxury sedan. He looked pretty

intimidating.

Kyle walked over with a pair of goggles in his hand.

“Your husband?”

I nodded.

Instead of getting angry, he smiled.

“So he’s finally rattled.”

I looked at how amused he seemed by the situation.

“Don’t do anything reckless.”

Kyle leaned closer.

“Erin, I’ve always behaved myself.”

As he said it, one finger lightly hooked the strap of my goggles.

“I just want him to understand that someone else will treat the woman he took for granted the way she

deserves.”

For a moment, my resolve to keep my distance from him wavered.

The other students had clearly planned something before class.

The moment I entered the pool area, several of them shouted together, “Kyle’s girlfriend is here!”

My foot slipped, and I nearly fell into the water

Kyle immediately caught me, grinning wide enough to show one slightly pointed canine.

“Careful, future girlfriend.”

I glared at him.

“Who told them to call me that?”

He put on an innocent expression.

“Maybe everyone can tell I like you.”

“Kyle.”

“Yeah?”

“Are you doing this just to tease me?”

He lowered his head and softened his voice.

“Then you’d better keep me in line.”

My face grew even hotter.

I pushed him away and climbed into the pool.

Halfway through the lesson, he suddenly handed me his phone.

“Take a picture of me.”

I did not think much of it and took a photo of him standing beside the pool.

He looked at it and shook his head.

“One with both of us.”

I was about to refuse when the receptionist came running over and grabbed the phone.

“I’ll take it!”

Kyle wrapped an arm around my waist from behind, his chin almost resting against my shoulder.

When the shutter clicked, I could feel his chest pressed against my back.

He was warm and steady.

Half an hour later, I saw the photo Kyle had posted.

His caption read:

(I’m teaching her how to swim. I also want her to know what it feels like to be loved.]

The first comment came from the receptionist

[Kyle’s future girlfriend looks beautiful today too1]

Before I had the chance to call him out, my phone suddenly vibrated.

Ethan had sent me a screenshot

It was the same post.

[This is your swimming instructor?]

I replied:

[It’s a good photo.]

He did not answer.

When I arrived home that evening, every light in the living room was on.

Ethan sat on the couch with his phone facedown on the coffee table, his expression grim.

“Are you done playing games?”

I set down my bag.

“What are you talking about?”

He shoved his phone in front of me.

“He’s just some young swimming instructor, Erin. Are you really going this far just to spite me?”

I looked at the smile on my face in the photo.

I had not seen myself smile that way in a very long time.

“I’m not doing any of this to spite you.”

He sneered.

“Then you’re serious about him?”

I met his gaze.

“Were you serious about Lily?”

Ethan visibly froze

“Don’t compare what I did to what you’re doing

I almost laughed.

“So when you cheat, it’s nothing serious But when someone likes me, suddenly I’m humiliating you?”

He shot to his feet

“Erin, how many years younger is he than you? Do you seriously not understand what he wants from you?”

“He likes me for who I am.”

I calmly hung up my coat.

“Unlike someone who only cared about what my family could give him.”

The words exposed the truth he least wanted to admit.

Ethan’s face went pale.

He stared at me for a long time, then abruptly turned and walked into the study.

He did not close the door completely.

I heard him making a call in a low voice.

“Find me a lawyer. I want everything checked. The division of assets, the prenuptial agreement, ownership of

the apartment. All of it.”

Standing outside the door, I let out a quiet laugh.

He thought he still had time to prepare.

My lawyer had already organized every document.
