The Wife Who Rode Her Black Panther Husband Daily Didn’t Know His Child Was A Leopard Chapter 07
I had nightmares all night, my mind racing.
When I woke up the next morning, the girls were already done eating and gone to play.
Kael was home too, resting.
I sat at the dining table and spoke, my heart pounding.
“Kael. If you love someone else, just ask for a divorce.”
“I won’t hold on. And I won’t let the kids get in your way.”
He set a warm glass of milk in front of me.
His head shot up.
He stared at me, eyes red.
“You want a divorce that badly? Running off to
that bastard with my cubs?”
My heart skipped a beat in fear.
I drank my milk to hide how guilty I felt.
“What… what are you talking about? What bastard?”
“You’re not making sense. I don’t know what you
mean…”
He lifted his chin and sneered. “You know exactly
who. I’m not divorcing you. As long as we’re
married, he stays in the dark. Just a stray dog on
the street.”
“So give up that thought.”
He spoke harshly, then grabbed a napkin.
He dabbed the milk off my lip gently.
He handed me my favorite spicy McChicken, his
voice cold but careful.
“It’s fresh. Be careful, it’s hot.”
“Where did you put your underwear from
yesterday? I’ll wash them.”
“Leave your plate when you’re done. I’ll clean up.”
I opened my mouth to refuse.
But my hand pointed to the laundry basket on its
own.
I squeezed my eyes shut and bit hard into the
sandwich.
Stupid quick reflexes.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
The nanny went to open it.
Jax stood at the door with a suitcase.
“Cousin. My place burned in a wildfire last night.
Can I crash here for a few days?”
Kael stepped in front of me like he was facing an
enemy.
His refusal was sharp. “No.”
But Jax walked in anyway, ignoring him.
completely.
He looked at me with fake innocence, his tone
playful.
“Oh? But Lira already said yes over text.”
“Cousin, I’m not married, but I know women hate it
when you go against their choices.”
My stomach dropped.
I stepped back half a pace.
He was lying.
I never knew he was coming.
I never said yes.
Behind Kael’s back, Jax winked at me.
His sharp, pretty eyes smiled in a way that made my breath catch.
It reminded me of the supply closet that day.
His voice had been low and rough.
“So… that night. Lira, you didn’t leave me with
nothing.”
“You left me a cub. No–two. Mia too…”
My mouth was covered, my eyes flying wide.
I stared at the long leopard tail rising behind him.
Its shadow swayed on the wall.
It was like a silent, hungry promise.
The comments buzzed in confusion:
[Wait, why’s the second lead here? He was
supposed to fall for the lead female at the salon. and book a rooftop restaurant for her today!]
[It’s all messed up!]
[Forget the lead female. The alpha and this girl are
way too hot together!]
[Panther mama, feed us! We’re starving!]
In the end, Jax stayed.
That night.
I lay in bed alone, half–asleep.
Something landed on the balcony silently.
A large leopard leaped in, moving with graceful,
soundless steps.
My eyes widened as it shifted into a man.
He was shirtless, walking toward me slowly.
The dark blurred his stunning face.
