My Stepsister Livestreamed My Billion-Dollar Wedding Gown Chapter 08
I lifted my head.
Wedding cannons boomed outside the window. Guests’ applause rolled in like waves.
I knew Talia and the others’ fate was sealed the second they reached for the
gown.
Still, Kian asked me one thing.
“Lila’s gown was destroyed on your watch.” He stared at me. “By rights, you carry some of the
blame.”
I nodded. “I know.”
“But you saved the wedding.” He paused. “Your merits cancel out your faults. I can choose not to
press charges against you.”
“Thank you, Mr. Jett.”
“Don’t thank me yet.” A faint smile tugged at his lips. “After the wedding ends, come speak with
me.”
The wedding proceeded as planned.
I stood by the dressing room door, peering through the crack. I watched the bride link arms with
her father and walk slowly down the red carpet.
Lights fell over her. diamonds on the gown scattered tiny flecks of light everywhere.
All guests stood and applauded.
Elders from both families sat in the front row, smiling with satisfaction.
No one knew that an hour before, there had almost been no gown for this red carpet.
No one knew three million people had watched the chaos inside that dressing room through the livestream.
I leaned against the doorframe, watching this grand wedding, and it felt surreal.
In my past life, I fought endlessly just to keep this wedding from falling apart.
And I died anyway.
This lifetime, I did nothing but watch them self-destruct.

The wedding still went forward.
Only this time, the person who saved it wasn’t the desperate me. It was the prepared me.
I glanced down at my hands.
Small cuts from the beadwork still marked my skin, faint blood seeping from them.
I finally understood.
My mistake in my past life wasn’t that I hadn’t fought hard enough. It was that I’d wasted my whole
life on people who didn’t deserve me.
After the ceremony ended, Kian called me to a private lounge at the back of the reception venue.
He set his suit jacket over a chair and sat down.
“Sit.”
I didn’t sit. I remained standing before him.
He glanced at me and didn’t push. He poured himself a cup of tea.
“The five Voss family members are in the detention facility now.”
I made a quiet sound of acknowledgment.
“Talia streamed the whole destruction of the Jett wedding gown to three million viewers. The Jett family’s reputation has been broadcast all over the internet.”
I nodded again.
“Hale, Sterling, and your parents are all accomplices.” He set down his teacup. “Criminal property destruction totaling over thirteen million dollars. On top of crashing the Jett alliance wedding, they
can never afford to pay this debt.”
I watched him, waiting for him to continue.
“My father has given the order.” Kian lifted his gaze. “All Voss family business operations in Veyra City are shut down, effective immediately.”
My breath caught.
I knew how powerful the Jett family was in Veyra City.
A single word from the Jett patriarch could bankrupt the small Voss businesses overnight.

“It doesn’t stop at businesses.” Kian spoke flatly.
“Your father’s debts, your brother’s company, your friend’s boutique stores. All will be liquidated within a month.”
He paused.
“And Talia. Her fans have turned against her. Her livestream channel was shut down, her account permanently banned.”
I listened silently.
With every sentence, my heart sank lower.
This wasn’t the revenge I’d dreamed of, but it was far harsher than I imagined.
“So.” Kian leaned back in his chair and studied me. “They’re finished. What about you?”
“Me?”
“You’re the designer. The gown was ruined under your care. Even though you fixed the crisis, the Jett family still suffered losses.”
I understood his meaning.
“How would you like me to make amends, Mr. Jett?”
He didn’t answer directly. Instead, he asked another question.
“Is your fashion showcase still happening next month?”
