My Stepsister Livestreamed My Billion-Dollar Wedding Gown Chapter 01

My Stepsister Livestreamed My Billion-Dollar Wedding Gown Chapter 01

A breathtaking couture wedding gown hung in the wedding reception greenroom, its craftsmanship beyond anything most people could imagine.

Once the appointed hour arrived, the bride would walk down the red carpet wearing it, sealing the union of two powerful families before every guest and a livestream audience watching online.

Talia slipped quietly into the greenroom. Her eyes lit up the moment she spotted the gown.

She held up her phone amid the shimmering fabric and hit go-live.

“Hey guys! I’m trying on my sister Gwen’s wedding gown for her~”

“Whoa! Hand-sewn bead embroidery, flawless faceted diamonds—this is exactly everything I love!”

“When they notice I’ve cut the gown shorter, I’ll just say I was giving Gwen’s dress a cuter style. My future brother-in-law will think I’m so creative!”

That gown was the betrothal heirloom representing the alliance between the two families.

In my previous life, Talia had insisted on trying it on.

I’d been terrified of what would happen. I rushed to stop her, forcing her and the others out to keep the wedding on track.

But she burst into tears and went live afterward.

The whole internet turned against me.

I lost everyone I cared about and was left with no one by my side.

When I got another chance, Talia was holding up her phone, filming the gown.

“Guys, if you wanna see me slip into this wedding dress, stay tuned! I’m putting it on!”

This time, I did nothing to stop her.

I watched her back and smiled faintly.

If someone was determined to make a mess of things, I could finally stop sticking my nose where it didn’t belong.

……

Warm light glowed from the vanity mirror inside the dressing room.

I knelt on the floor and examined the gown’s skirt.

This was a top-tier custom couture gown.

Hand-sewn bead embroidery, flawless faceted diamonds. Every detail had taken countless hours of craftsmanship.

The door flew open from outside.

Talia charged in holding her phone, her gaze glued to the gown.

She flipped the camera toward herself and spoke in a saccharine, high-pitched voice.

“Hey guys! I’m trying on Gwen’s wedding gown!”

My eyelids twitched. A sharp warning flashed through my mind.

I quickly stepped in front of the gown to block her.

“Turn the phone off. You can’t touch this gown.”

Talia tilted her head and pushed the phone toward my face.

“You’re so mean, Gwen.”

I knew her all too well.

Ever since we were kids, she’d craved anything that belonged to me.

It was never enough just to have it.

She had to show it off.

When we were younger, she showed everything off to Sterling and Hale. As we grew older, she started bragging on livestreams.

The more her fans praised her authentic vibe, the more determined she became to take what was mine.

No one in our household ever reined her in. They only spoiled her more.

Dad said she was still young.

Mom told me, as the older sister, I needed to make allowances for her.

Even Sterling, my childhood friend, said I lacked generosity.

“Talia, end the livestream.”

I lowered my voice and spoke one slow word at a time.

She didn’t shut it down. Instead, she pushed the camera even closer.

“Guys, look! Gwen won’t even let me touch her wedding dress.”

The door swung open once more.

My brother Hale stormed inside, his expression dark.

“Gwen! You kept this huge wedding secret from the whole family, and now you’re picking on Talia. Can’t you see how shameful this is?”

“I’m not picking on her.”

I pointed at the phone in Talia’s hand.

“She’s livestreaming. This gown can’t be filmed.”

Sterling squeezed into the room too, gripping a gimbal.

He raised the camera toward me.

“Guys, take a look. Gwen won’t even let me touch the new dress.”

I took a deep breath, forcing my anger under control.

“This gown is extremely valuable. If anything happens to it, none of us can fix the damage.”

Talia pouted, her eyes still fixed on the gown.

“You’re so cheap, Gwen. I’m only gonna try it on. I won’t ruin anything.”

“Even trying it on is not allowed.”

I pulled out my phone and prepared to make a call.

I planned to get staff to come secure the gown.

We could still fix this if we acted now.

Before the call connected, Hale reached over and pushed my hand down, stopping me.
