Zoey froze in place, eyes wide with disbelief.
“No… that’s impossible.
“You have to be lying. How could you get married so quickly?
“What happened at the auction caused such a huge scandal. Besides me, who else would even marry you?”
The words slipped out before she could stop herself. She quickly covered her mouth.
“That’s not what I meant, Henry.”
I looked at her quietly, unsurprised by what she had revealed.
Otherwise, over all these years, she would never have openly favored Ronald the way she did. In her heart, she had always believed no one except her would ever want ‘damaged goods’ like me.
A gust of wind rushed up from behind.
Tina stormed past me and punched Zoey square in the face.
“I’ll kill you!”
Caught off guard, Zoey failed to dodge in time. Blood immediately appeared on her face as she stared in shock at Tina stepping out from the house.
“So you’re the mistress!”
The two of them instantly started fighting.
“Stop it!”
I rushed forward and grabbed Tina tightly by the arm, finally managing to separate them.
“Are you hurt?”
I held Tina’s hands anxiously, checking to see if she had been injured anywhere.
She immediately leaned over and kissed me on the cheek.
“Don’t worry, darling. I’m fine. That blood is hers.”
Watching everything unfold before her, something inside Zoey slowly shattered. She clenched her fists and looked at me unwillingly.
“When did you two get together?”
I stared at her, then suddenly stepped forward and slapped her hard across the face.
“You think everyone’s like you, unable to keep it in their pants?
“Zoey, even now, your so-called apology is nothing but arrogance wrapped in fake sincerity.
“Get out of here. Right now.
“From this day on, we have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
“And I will never give you another chance to hurt me again.”
After saying that, I took Tina’s hand and walked back inside.
Zoey stared fixedly at my back.
“No, Henry! I’m the one who loves you the most! You have to believe me!
“I won’t give up! I’ll take you back no matter what!”
For the next few days, she kept blocking the entrance to our home until Tina finally chased her away by force.
I thought that would be the end of it.
I was wrong.
One day after work, I was kidnapped.
When I opened my eyes, everything around me was pitch black. The only sound was waves crashing against the shore.

Zoey sat across from me, her eyes dark and sinister as she carefully studied my face.

“Then why did you cheat on me? Why did you marry someone else?!
“You’re mine! You belong to me alone!”
The small knife in her hand shifted downward, slicing open my pants in one motion.
“Did she touch you here? What about here?”
Her eyes were bloodshot like a wild animal. She had completely lost her humanity.
“I’m your fiancée! Why should you marry someone else?!”
Suddenly, she hoisted me up into the air. My hands instantly lost all color from the strain.
“Put me down!”
I struggled desperately.
“Let’s die together. Then in the next life, we can finally stay together forever!”

With multiple crimes added together, Zoey was sentenced to ten years in prison.

The police later told me she wanted to see me one last time.
I refused.
