Eloped Ex Wanted Me Back? I Became His Mafia Godmother! Chapter 03

Eloped Ex Wanted Me Back? I Became His Mafia Godmother! Chapter 03

I shoved the door open, only to catch Dante and Sienna locked in a feral, tongue-twisting embrace on the sofa?

Instinct slammed in—I instantly clamped my hands over my daughter’s eyes and ears.

“Get the hell out! Is this private lounge a place for a beggar like you?!”

Embarrassed and furious at being caught, Dante snatched a glass cup off the table and hurled it straight at my head.

Crack!

It clipped my forehead, the sharp impact leaving a massive, throbbing knot. Pain flared behind my eyes, making my vision blur.

Before I could even process the hit? A handful of frantic project managers rushed into the room, bowing and scraping before Dante.

“We are so incredibly sorry, Mr. Romano! This was a massive security oversight. We’ll remove this trash immediately.”

I violently ripped my arms away from their clutching hands, my voice dripping with pure rage.

“This lounge was specifically prepared for me. Who gave any of you the fucking balls to kick me out?!”

Silence suffocated the room.

A beat later, the men erupted into a chorus of mocking, derisive laughter.

Desperate to prove my identity, I reached into my pocket for my phone.

Dante lunged forward.

In one swift, brutal motion, he ripped the device from my grip and smashed it onto the concrete floor.

Crunch.

The screen shattered into a dozen useless pieces.

“Mara, are you completely out of your mind?!” Dante loomed over me, looking down his nose with absolute disgust.

“This lounge is the exclusive territory of Don Adrian Valenti—the richest man in the underworld. Even I was barely granted permission to sit here for a business meeting. What kind of nobody do you think you are to come in here and call the shots?!”

“You’re truly shameless, aren’t you? Desperate enough to use a stunt like this just to get my attention?”

The fat-bellied executives exchanged sleazy, judging looks, their eyes scanning me up and down.

“Mr. Romano, who is this woman?”

Dante let out a cruel, careless smirk. “No idea. But looking at how desperate and starved for attention she is? She’s probably a street hooker looking for business.”

Sienna giggled like a schoolgirl at his insult, tracing playful circles on his chest with her manicured fingers. “Oh, Dante, don’t be so mean. You’re terrible.”

With Dante’s explicit green light, the wolves threw off their masks. The executives unleashed a torrent of vile, disgusting slurs right at my face.

“Bringing a little piece of baggage along to sell your body? Watch out you don’t catch a disease.”

“Look at those cheap rags. No one with money would ever buy a piece of trash like you! Go back to begging on the streets!”

“Hey, Mr. Romano, if you’re done with this bitch, why not pass her over to me? I haven’t had a wild night in a long time!”

I pressed my hands over Lily’s ears as hard as I could, my entire body shaking with fury. “Shut up! There’s a child here!”

But the damage was done. Terrified by the screaming and the toxic tension, Lily buried her crying face deep into my chest.

It took everything I had to soothe her.

When I finally looked up, I caught Dante staring at me. His expression was a twisted knot of conflict, a fleeting shadow of guilt crossing his eyes.

He opened his mouth to speak—

But Sienna intercepted him instantly, playing the role of the saintly, generous angel.

“Mara, I know it hasn’t been easy raising a kid alone all these years. Tell you what—I actually happen to need a personal maid. Come work for me. I’ll pay you twenty-five hundred a month. It beats picking up trash, right?”

Whatever guilt Dante had felt evaporated into thin air. He pulled Sienna flush against his chest and planted a rough, possessive kiss on her lips.

“Sienna, you’re far too kind for your own good. It breaks my heart.”

Sienna blushed, leaning heavily into his chest.

Watching the two of them put on this pathetic show made my stomach churn with violent nausea.

“No thanks,” I said, coldly wiping the blood from my forehead as I locked eyes with them. “Just breathing the same air as you two makes me want to vomit.”

Ignoring Dante’s darkening face, I turned on my heel and walked out with Lily in my arms.

Two absolute psychopaths!

Behind me, the sound of furniture shattering echoed down the hall, followed by Dante’s enraged roar: “Mara! Are you really this determined to be a pathetic piece of trash?! You’re absolutely hopeless! Don’t you dare dream about a reconciliation!”

I slammed the heavy door behind me, cutting him off.

With my phone destroyed, I had no way to contact Adrian’s elite guard. My only option was to find a shaded corner of the docks to rest with Lily.

Lily leaned against me, her tiny body soft and exhausted.

“Mommy,” she whimpered in her sweet, baby voice, “who were those bad people? Why were they yelling? When is Daddy coming to get us?”

I kissed her forehead, keeping my voice gentle and steady. “They’re just bad people, sweetheart. Don’t worry about them. Daddy will be here very soon. Let’s just wait a little bit, okay?”

Lily nodded obediently.

As the midday heat began to swelter, I told my daughter to stay seated and wait for me while I walked a few paces away to fill her water cup at a nearby dispenser.

But the cup wasn’t even full yet—

When a blood-curdling, agonizing scream tore through the air behind me.

“Mommy, help me! Let me go! LET ME GO!”
