The Billionaire Who Faked My Love Story And Lost The Real One Chapter 10

We were barely out the doors when an engine roared at the bottom of the steps.

Wren. Behind the wheel of a white sports car.

She floored it and drove straight at me.

Through the windshield, her face was crimson, her eyes wild. She’d completely lost it.

“Elara!”

Tires shrieked across the pavement, the sound splitting the air.

Then she screamed and hit the brakes.

Because Garrick had stumbled out the doors and thrown himself in front of me.

The tires locked and skidded. The car stopped inches from his knees.

The bumper kissed his kneecaps.

“Garrick, you psycho!”

“I love you this much and you’re ready to die for her!”

She stumbled out of the car and collapsed on the ground, sobbing.

Her sobs shattered against the stone and echoed back.

Garrick’s shirt was soaked through with cold sweat.

But he didn’t check himself. He turned to look at me.

I watched them both for a moment. Then I smiled.

I walked to Wren’s car, opened the door, and got in.

I shifted into drive and floored it.

The headlights blazed.

The car shot straight at Wren and Garrick.

“You crazy bitch!”

“She’s gonna kill us!”

Wren scrambled out of the way, screaming.

But Garrick didn’t move. He spread his arms wide.

His face was soft. Peaceful. Like there wasn’t a car hurtling toward him.

Like the person he’d been aching for was finally coming back to him.

He looked like he wanted to hold me.

At the last possible second, I slammed the brakes.

I stepped out, calm as anything, and looked at Wren.

She was shaking so hard she could barely stand.

She looked like she’d been pulled from deep water. Sweat plastered her clothes to her skin.

It took her a long time to stop hyperventilating.

I dusted off my sleeve and smiled.

“See? You don’t love him as much as you think.”

“When I drove at him, you didn’t even try to pull him out of the way.”

Wren’s head snapped up from the ground. The white drained from her face and flushed into furious

red.

“You set me up! You…”

“I just showed you what you already were.”

I stopped two steps away and looked down at her.

“Garrick was always my enemy. Only mine.”

“You haven’t actually hurt me. Not really. So this is your one chance to walk away.”

She froze.

Slowly, she turned to look at Garrick.

The man she’d once thought was untouchable looked like a wreck.

Blood–soaked shirt, reopened wound. He’d nearly died twice tonight.

And through all of it, he never once looked at her. His eyes were on me.

Wren smiled. And as she smiled, the tears came.

She pushed herself off the ground, brushed the dust from her dress, and looked at Garrick one last

time.

She didn’t say a word. She just turned and walked away.
