I Hired Elite Tycoons as My Parents for Five Cents Chapter 07

The second Arthur said the name, the hallway went silent all over again.

Stella wiped the blade clean, turned slowly, and gave Arthur a slow once-over, like he’d personally let her

down.

“Arthur, honestly. What kind of operation are you running? You’re letting trash off the street wander into our

hospital?”

Arthur got a good look at Stella’s face, and whatever was left of his composure evaporated.

Standing right in front of him was the other half of Oakhaven’s most feared power couple, the woman even

the old-money elite wouldn’t dare look at the wrong way.

The Rossi family owned this hospital. One word from her, and Arthur would be clearing out his desk.

Vincenzo barely glanced at Arthur. His voice was flat and freezing.

“A hospital saves people. It doesn’t help rich families butcher their own children.”

Arthur was shaking from the knees down. He bowed so low his spine nearly folded.

“Yes, yes, absolutely, Mr. Rossi. You’re completely right. I’ll have these people-no, these animals-removed

immediately!”

Richard’s smug grin froze on his face. He looked like he’d been hit by a truck.

“Arthur, you… you’ve got the wrong idea! They’re just two thugs…”

That was the wrong thing to say. Arthur’s face twisted with fury. He spun around and backhanded Richard hard enough to snap his head sideways. Two teeth hit the floor.

“Bullshit! You absolute moron!”

He wheeled on the Strattons, practically tripping over himself to prove his loyalty.

“You talk like that in front of Mr. and Mrs. Rossi? You try to force an organ donation in this hospital? You

people have a death wish!”

Before the Strattons could even open their mouths, Arthur turned and screamed at the security guards.

“What are you standing around for? Drag every single one of them out! Call the police. I want everything on

record. Attempted forced organ removal, assault, all of it. Not one of them walks.”

The guards swarmed in and went straight for the Strattons.

Richard and Evelyn hit the floor at the same time, knees slamming against tile, faces gray with terror.

“Mr. Rossi! We were wrong. We were so wrong!”

“We didn’t know who you were We were blind We were stupid! Please, we’re begging you, have mercy, just

this oncel”

Evelyn was sobbing so hard she could barely breathe. She crawled toward Stella and slammed her forehead

against the floor, again and again, until blood smeared the tile.

“My children can’t go to prison. It’ll destroy them! Mrs. Rossi, you’re a mother too. I’m begging you, as one mother to another, please spare them!”

“Mother? You think you’ve earned that word?”

Stella’s boot connected with Evelyn’s chest. There was something lethal in her eyes.

“I would die for my daughter. I would burn this city to the ground before I let anyone touch her. And you? You

strapped yours to a table and tried to carve out her organs while she screamed. You’re not a mother. You’re a

monster.”

“Their lives matter now? What about my daughter’s life? Does that not count? Nobody’s saving your family

today. I don’t care who begs.”

The kick sent Evelyn crashing to the floor. Every trace of color drained from her face.

Her mouth opened, but nothing came out. Whatever guilt she’d been burying found its way to the surface.

She doubled over, hands pressed to her face, and sobbed.

Trenton and Caleb had gone quiet. All that earlier bravado was gone. They stood flattened against the wall,

barely breathing.

Only Brooke had a different reaction. Her gaze was locked on my adoptive parents, blazing with a wild,

unhinged excitement.

“Mom, Dad, I’m your real daughter!”
