He Sent an Intern to Meet His Parents, I Sent Him a Wedding Invitation Chapter 06
As soon as they got to the room, Jenny’s pale hand slid from behind and touched his abs.
“Stop.” He grabbed Jenny’s hand. “What are you doing?”
Jenny looked surprised. “I… I just wanted to hold you, Brandon.”
“Do you really think this is appropriate?”
Jenny blinked in confusion.
He pushed her hand away. “I’ll get you another room.”
“Brandon!” Jenny stopped him as he reached for the phone. “What’s so great about Megan Hartley
anyway? You don’t even like her, do you?”
Brandon frowned.
She pressed herself against his chest and looked up at him.
“Brandon, you’ve been together for ten years. I know Megan is older. But I’m different. If you wanted me, I’d say yes in a heartbeat. I’m not lying.”
Brandon’s frown deepened. “You’ve known all along that she and I have been together for ten years?”
Jenny froze.
He pushed her away. “If you knew that, then you should understand that you can’t break up a
ten-year relationship.”
“But…” Jenny’s eyes welled up.
He called the front desk. “I need another room.”
“I’m sorry, sir, but that was our last room for the night,”
Jenny took the phone and hung up. “See, Brandon? Even fate doesn’t want you to be with Megan
anymore.”
Brandon scowled. He took the phone back and called another number.
“Zachary.”
Zachary answered.
“I’m at your Grand Regency Hotel. I have someone with me and there’s only one room left. Can you come get her and put her up somewhere?”
Zachary was quiet for a moment. Then he said something meaningful. “Under normal circumstances, I’d help you out. But I can’t right now.”
“Why not?”
“I’m getting married.”
Brandon paused, then laughed. “You? The Zachary Flynn who said he’d be single forever? You’re getting married?”
“This time is different.” Zachary’s voice practically beamed. “I met a girl. Love at first sight.”
“A girl who made you fall in love at first sight? She must be something special.”
“She really is.” Zachary sounded like he couldn’t stop smiling. “So sorry, Brandon. I can’t help you. But I’ll send someone to move your friend to another hotel.”
“Thanks. I appreciate it.”
“Brandon, aren’t you going to wish me a happy wedding? Tomorrow I’ll be her husband.”
Brandon laughed out loud. “Then happy wedding to you.”
“Thank you, Brandon.”
The call ended.
Brandon had Jenny sent to another hotel.
At the same time, I was on a video call with Zachary. I noticed his smile turn a little sly.
“What?” I asked.
“Nothing.” He grinned at me. “I just got a wedding blessing from your ex.”
